The problem with communism is people seem to think that giving total power to the state will make everyone equal. When this total power is misused or even hijacked communists say no, in real communism this group of super elites will actually take care of us and make sure we're equal. When this total power is misused or even hijacked communists say no, in real communism this group of super elites will actually take care of us and make sure we're equal. The imperialist country take away the raw materials of the colonised country for their own industirlal boom. Same what happened in India by the English Imperialism. You do understand that a lot of the colonial bullshit was state sponsored, something you treasure quite well. Companies had little to do with it. At the time, companies were usually only allowed to trade within their own nations, and nothing else (mercantilism).
I'm a big history buff, and the ONLY time capitalism ever got brutal was the Opium war between Britain and China.

The only problem with stalinism was the dictatorial form of government and the lack of freedoms, and this is why it needed to be overthrown, but true communism, how Marx imagined it, is a democratic ideology, and is evolution!

THERE WAS NO FAMINE AT ALL in the Warsaw pact, and in the USSR for example the minimum wage was higher than in the USA at the time (tough the maximum wage was much lower), and all the stalinist governments provided housing for their whole population, unemployment rate smaller than 0.5%, and sent all the funds generated by the work of the people to wages, industry, or research, not the pockets of some profiteer
