@4CrystalSTAR I'm pretty sure that at least some of the "dislike" votes are done accidentally, by people clicking unintentionally on the wrong thing. That's what I tell myself, anyway.
I'm getting a new phone soon (in 3 months) I was wondering should I guess this one or the my touch 4g slide and it's mostly JUST FOR GOOD QUALITY CAMERA! So i was wondering which one is good sound and video quality?
@dianelys567 Yes. These are both smartphones, and smartphones require data plans. No way to avoid that, unless you pay the full (quite high) price for the phone.
@TheBestWhiteKid You can always pay full price and get this (or any other) phone without a contract. If you want the low price (often free), then you need to be eligible. That means it either has to be a new 2-year contract, or a renewal of your existing contract once it has reached 2 years. If you're not sure, give Wirefly a call at 866-852-3216 to discuss.
i have a question well 2 my first one is how much does the mytouch by lg cost with a contract.Second question can i cancel my contract for a new contract with the mytouch lg. and will i have to pay money to cancel my contract?
@TheBestWhiteKid For costs, it's always best to check the price on Wirefly (dod) come. Prices change all the time, so any price I list here will probably be wrong in a couple of weeks.
@glittergraphics247 I have just two videos on these phones: This double unboxing and the review of the (keyboard-less) myTouch by LG. I'm afraid that's all I will have.
@Xinebever The myTouch Q sold in the US is locked to T-Mobile. If you plan to take it to other countries, you should speak to T-Mobile about getting it to work in those countries. If live in a country other than the US an intend to keep the phone permanently there, then you will need to unlock the phone. Google "unlock the mytouch q" and see what comes up.
@zaxgamez Okay, virtually all smartphones sold today have capacitive screens. I have never seen an Android or Windows phone that had a resistive screen, but some might have two years ago.
@dylanfer6 At the moment, there are no plans to update these two phones with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). However, that's up to LG and T-Mobile, and all I know about it is what I read in the blogs.
@ItsGiselleBabyy Unfortunately, the myTouch and myTouchQ do not have notification LEDs. I tested that yesterday with the myTouch (without a keyboard).
@SierraGolfTango737 Yes, I think the myTouch is a very good starter smartphone. Among phones that I think of as "starter" Android phones, the myTouch is one of the best: 4.5 out of 5 stars. In the overall Android phone universe, the myTouch rates 3.5 out of 5 stars.
In its favor, the myTouch is small, light, inexpensive and has a nice display with smooth response. It could use more storage. More power would be a bonus.
I just bought this phone yesterday I asked for the slim one but the guy gave me the one with the keyboard ohh well its still a great phone can't wait for the review:D
@Himynameisricardo These phones can run on just WiFi. However, no one will sell them to you at a low price without an Internet data plan. Virtually all smartphones can run only on WiFi, although many do not permit WiFi calling. However, you won't be able to buy a new smartphone at a low price without a data plan. All smartphones from Wirefly require a data plan, unless you pay the full (replacement) cost.
@SourLikeWorms I don't want to spend your money for you, but I strongly recommend the myTouch 4G Slide over either the 3G and the Q. If you can't afford it, then the Q is your next best choice, as it is considerably more modern than the myTouch 3G Slide. All are within $50 of each other on Wirefly.
hello bob, so if i upgrade to one of these phone and i didnt have a data plan to begin with. Can i get a "pay per mb usage" kind of thing? i read something about this on the wirefire policy, but idk.. im just making sure :]
@MrTastea123 If you outright buy the phone, you don't need to get a contract and you have lots of flexibility. You will need a data plan, but you can get one with a low data cap (or possibly "pay-as-you-go"). If you buy the phone at the subsidized (low) price, you will have to choose one of the data plans shown on Wirefly or at a T-Mobile store.
@humansRule987 I prefer the myTouch (no keyboard) for its small size and nice display. That's just my preference, however... I recognize that others may prefer a physical keyboard. If you read below, this quesion has come up before.
Thanks for the excellent unboxing review Bob. I'm a tmobile customer and it's been difficult finding any other hands on reviews of these phones. The fantastic specs which are a vast improvement over the previous incarnation of the mytouch phones and plus the lower price add up to a pretty good value.
I was wondering how the resolution compares with a Samsung Exhibit which I'm also interested in. Samsungs' are known for their crisp and sharp resolution.
How's the on screen keyboard, because some are hard to text fast with, like you press a letter then the one next to it presses, so is the on screen keyboard good for texting fast. and miss spelling words. ?? Please Respond.
What T-Mobile phone would you say is the best for playing games on. That's obviously not all I want a phone for, but I'm just curious to know which is a very good phone for gaming.
which one do you prefer because i personally like the keyboard on the q, but the normal one has a front facing camera; but i also seen that the q has very little battery life compared to the normal one.
@213CRT For me personally, I prefer a phone without a keyboard. They are lighter and smaller, and in this case the myTouch has a larger/nicer display. That does it for me, if everything else is equal. But everyone is different and the great thing about Android is that it gives you choices.
Why would they not include a flash for both cameras! on the Q but not on the other ??= FAIL. & Lg is already known for having bad cameras. Doesn't look to good..
hey bob ive been hearing that the previous my touch is better than these two that will be coming out soon, and wanted to know if you can explain to me how? and also what phone would you prefer, the new my touch or samsung exhibit 2 nothing to do with price but quality. Thanks
@213CRT I like the look and feel of the new myTouch (without keyboard), and the display is very pretty. The myTouch Q looks ordinary, nothing special. The earlier HTC myTouch 4G Slide is a much more powerful phone, and the year-old HTC myTouch 4G has better benchmark numbers than the new myTouch phones. I like the keyboard-less myTouch and think it's about even with the new Exhibit II. These new phones are not powerhouses.
@wirefly ~Hi Bob, If the two phones are the same price, how much would the phone cost if you you ONLY buy the phone? (no contract, i already have a plan but i dropped my other phone in the sink, i just want to buy a phone, JUST A PHONE) Thank You Have A Great Day.
@ii8Untouchable I hate to give prices here, as they change all the time. Your best bet is to go to Wirefly, look up either phone, and click on the "Replacement cost" button. That's the cost of the phone without a contract. If I post a price here, someone will come along in a month and say. "But dude, it's $50 cheaper on ebay."
Would you recommend getting the mytouch Q. I was thinking of getting it since it seems like a nice affordable smartphone. Would apps off the android market work well with it, or would another T-mobile phone be better. I really don't want to spend huge amounts of money though, so hopefully these phones get good reviews.
@JohnGunz85 The myTouch Q is okay but he myTouch 4G Slide is a better phone for T-Mobile. At the moment, it's going for $49.99 on Wirefly but you should always check the prices... these things change often. If you can afford the $49.99, that's the one I would choose. As far as I know, all Android phones can access the Android Market and the apps work fine.
@etotherescue2010 Maybe in a few days... early next week. I will probably review the myTouch (without a keyboard), but probably will not review the myTouch Q.
@SwordsmasterMarth I always go on the Internet and find as many facts as possible before doing these videos, but there just wasn't much about these two phones out there. I avoid non-official sites that publish specs, because I've found them to be unreliable. But thanks for the kind words.
@MrRandomkidftw Lots of differences there. Do you want a physical keyboard? That's the myTouch Q. The most power? Probably the G2x. The Exhibit II and the new myTouch are small and light, with nice displays. I actually like the new myTouch quite a bit, as it has an *excellent* display in a very lightweight package.
These are downfrades from the mytouch 4g and the mytouch 4g slide...i mean i wana like them but i cant...its seems like one has then features i want but then its missing something like a flash or a front faceing camera...Htc would have done a better job ... I mean lg doesnt suck but they can do better than this...the best phone by far that they have produced in my honest opinion was the g2x
@Tay21Dee Looks like the release date for both new myTouch phones is Nov. 9. I don't know the price yet and probably won't until the launch. It's always best to check on Wirefly.com after the launch to get the most accurate price.
@wirefly OK thank you. One more thing, in the video you said both phones have front facing cameras, and I looked at the specs on tmobile's website and it say's only the mytouch has a front facing camera. Why is it that only one of the phones would have a front-facing camera? Does it have to do with the slide out keyboard?
@Tay21Dee You could be right... I know the myTouch has a front camera and perhaps assumed that the Q did as well. I will check tomorrow when I can put my hands on the Q.
@Tay21Dee I checked and T-Mobile's site is right -- the myTouch Q does not have a front-facing camera. I don't know why LG/T-Mobile did that, because it is possible for sliding keyboard phones to have front cameras (myTouch 4G Slide, Samsung Epic 4G/Stratosphere). I'll try to fix the mistake in the video.
@wirefly Yeah, for me its a disappointment. A feature that I really wanted while getting a new phone was the front facing camera, but seeing how low the cost is for the phone, I think I'll still consider buying it, after all the main thing I care for is the keyboard.
@theIDKer Yeah, I heard that too but swear it is not in the original that I uploaded. Interestingly, I also had some problems uploading the exact same file type for my personal YouTube channel, so I think YouTube is having problems with AVCHD files.
@latios1500 I don't know yet if one or both will be reviewed, and there are a couple other things to do first. Probably not this coming week, but maybe the week after.
i dont like the fact that manufactures are making thinner phones. they start to look and feel really cheap. they dont feel premium like HTC's phone. The iPhone thinnest is nice only because its durable. i dont think smartphones need to be a any thinner
@camcamoo7 The myTouch Q by LG is probably a little faster than the Samsung Galaxy Ace, and the myTouch can do 4G. The Q also has a keyboard, which the Galaxy Ace doesn't have. If you compared the Galaxy Ace to the myTouch by LG (no Q), then I'd say the myTouch is definitely better.
@mobiletechkid Wirefly does sell off-contract phones. Choose the phone you want and click on the "Replacement cost" button... that's the off-contract price.
@bluestarkad17 Wierd... I just played it and I start it twice! It definitely didn't start twice when I reviewed the edited version prior to uploading. I'll have to check that on Monday. When did you hear an audio incongruity?
@wirefly i just noticed it when i saw you put down the plastic wrappers, but i still heard the plastic sound...and i heard it start twice to, but i figured that it was just a part that was edited...i also thought it was off because your hand movements weren't matching up to what you were saying(hope i explained that right)...no biggie tho...it was still an EPIC TWIN unboxing!!
I like the mytouch with out the keyboard but no flash and its screen looks to be amoled cuz its blue and the mytouch Q look like its a LCD screen and it look.like it don't have a from cam and if they put both together they would make a OK looking phone

That's the cost of the phone without a contract. If I post a price here, someone will come along in a month and say. "But dude, it's $50 cheaper on ebay."

@ii8Untouchable Hello. Im not Bob but $279.99.
Good price I must say.

Would you recommend getting the mytouch Q. I was thinking of getting it since it seems like a nice affordable smartphone. Would apps off the android market work well with it, or would another T-mobile phone be better. I really don't want to spend huge amounts of money though, so hopefully these phones get good reviews.
JohnGunz85 3 months ago
@JohnGunz85 The myTouch Q is okay but he myTouch 4G Slide is a better phone for T-Mobile. At the moment, it's going for $49.99 on Wirefly but you should always check the prices... these things change often. If you can afford the $49.99, that's the one I would choose. As far as I know, all Android phones can access the Android Market and the apps work fine.

When Are we going to see a full review? Im waiting for the review to see if I should get this phone:-)

@etotherescue2010 Maybe in a few days... early next week. I will probably review the myTouch (without a keyboard), but probably will not review the myTouch Q.

WTF why is LG making them now? LG fails with phones....
mattmasi303 3 months ago
@SwordsmasterMarth I always go on the Internet and find as many facts as possible before doing these videos, but there just wasn't much about these two phones out there. I avoid non-official sites that publish specs, because I've found them to be unreliable. But thanks for the kind words.

@wirefly Which phone would you choose? new myTouch(not Q), galaxy s II, G2X, Amaze, or sensation?
AAS0020 3 months ago
@AAS0020 If it was my choice, I'd get the Sensation. It's a little less powerful than the Amaze, but I like the thinner profile and lighter weight.

which one should i get Samsung Exhibit II 4G , T-Mobile myTouch Q , T-Mobile myTouch (new one), or the g2x
MrRandomkidftw 3 months ago
@MrRandomkidftw Lots of differences there. Do you want a physical keyboard? That's the myTouch Q. The most power? Probably the G2x. The Exhibit II and the new myTouch are small and light, with nice displays. I actually like the new myTouch quite a bit, as it has an *excellent* display in a very lightweight package.

These are downfrades from the mytouch 4g and the mytouch 4g slide...i mean i wana like them but i cant...its seems like one has then features i want but then its missing something like a flash or a front faceing camera...Htc would have done a better job ... I mean lg doesnt suck but they can do better than this...the best phone by far that they have produced in my honest opinion was the g2x
shikumaroo 3 months ago
they are both down grades from two phones that have already been released......FAIL

what was the point in making another my touch, the htc my touch 3G LOOKS BETTER THEN THESE TWO PHONES
kingrc1104 3 months ago
When is the release date for the mytouch q? It's been rumored for November 2nd, but there hasn't been any announcements or anything.
Also, do you know the full price for the phone?
Tay21Dee 3 months ago
@Tay21Dee Looks like the release date for both new myTouch phones is Nov. 9. I don't know the price yet and probably won't until the launch. It's always best to check on Wirefly.com after the launch to get the most accurate price.

wirefly 3 months ago
@wirefly OK thank you. One more thing, in the video you said both phones have front facing cameras, and I looked at the specs on tmobile's website and it say's only the mytouch has a front facing camera. Why is it that only one of the phones would have a front-facing camera? Does it have to do with the slide out keyboard?
Tay21Dee 3 months ago
@Tay21Dee You could be right... I know the myTouch has a front camera and perhaps assumed that the Q did as well. I will check tomorrow when I can put my hands on the Q.
Bob at Wirefly
wirefly 3 months ago
@Tay21Dee I checked and T-Mobile's site is right -- the myTouch Q does not have a front-facing camera. I don't know why LG/T-Mobile did that, because it is possible for sliding keyboard phones to have front cameras (myTouch 4G Slide, Samsung Epic 4G/Stratosphere). I'll try to fix the mistake in the video.
Bob at Wirefly
wirefly 3 months ago
@wirefly Yeah, for me its a disappointment. A feature that I really wanted while getting a new phone was the front facing camera, but seeing how low the cost is for the phone, I think I'll still consider buying it, after all the main thing I care for is the keyboard.

Error- I heard "Hey everyone, this is Bob Kovacs" twice at the beginning.
theIDKer 3 months ago
@theIDKer Yeah, I heard that too but swear it is not in the original that I uploaded. Interestingly, I also had some problems uploading the exact same file type for my personal YouTube channel, so I think YouTube is having problems with AVCHD files.

iphone durable haha wat a dumbass lol
qwertypoor 3 months ago
i dont like the fact that manufactures are making thinner phones. they start to look and feel really cheap. they dont feel premium like HTC's phone. The iPhone thinnest is nice only because its durable. i dont think smartphones need to be a any thinner

camcamoo7 3 months ago
@wirefly would u recomend this over the samsung galaxy ace
camcamoo7 3 months ago
@camcamoo7 The myTouch Q by LG is probably a little faster than the Samsung Galaxy Ace, and the myTouch can do 4G. The Q also has a keyboard, which the Galaxy Ace doesn't have. If you compared the Galaxy Ace to the myTouch by LG (no Q), then I'd say the myTouch is definitely better.

Bob at Wirefly
wirefly 3 months ago
