This song always reminds me of Back To The Future, the scene where Marty gets up on stage and plays Johnny B. Goode! what an awesome time it must have been to be alive!
Now, GH fans. I don't want you to be upset. But M. Scorcese has worked out a biopic of GH's life (with Olivia's approval). It seems that our beloved GH really LOVED a lot of ladies (not with Olivia's approval, but, she has forgiven him). @scarmbledegg.
Oh man, Olivia and Dhani. George was an amazing talent, for us. But, for you, he was a husband and father. You must miss him, every day. For us, it is just his amazing way with the guitar, and his beautiful tenor voice. But, for you, it must be something more intimate than that. RIP George Harrison--we all still love you.
@kmartina8178 I can 'be with you', on this, because my first husband joined the '27 club'. No, he didn't kill himself. He died of an asthma attack, on his 27th birthday.
@sukay93 Even though this song was written (and performed!) by Chuck Berry, before the Beatles, it certainly doesn't take away from George's amazing performance. I have been in love with George from the start of the Beatles. Thank God he has Olivia, now and forever. And we have George And, all of us, will, forever
Just got all 210 Beatles songs from the Album Bundle. Its magical. This and Long Tall Sally are my new favorites. Wish they made this kind of music today.
George makes this song look like a walk in the park. Feast your eyes, all you stupid teenagers who listen to Disney Channel and Justin Bieber — this is real music.
The stiff British delivery of this song makes them sound like a Monster coming to demolish the world! And they were, they were! Still mindblowing! One of George's finest moments! I gotta hear it again today!
for all you critiqueing George's guitar work, let's see you do better in an era with no youtube how-to play videos no sheet music or lessons because it was too expensive, just getting out there playing live when only in his teens. It may not be technically perfect, but that's not the point, music is to make people happy and the crowd is clearly enjoying it.
One reason the guitar solo may not be that good is that George is playing his 12 string Rickenbacher when the usual solo for Roll Over Beethoven was on his Gretsch. The 12 string was new and he seemed to be using it like a new toy whenever he could even when his good old Gretsch would have been much easier to play and sound much better.
@biggollocks My feeling about this is that we're hearing a pre-recorded backing track and George is holding the Rick cause he likes the look of it. To my ears what we can hear is definitely not a 12 string, but probably the Gretsch. Trying to play a Chuck Berry solo on a 12 string is a thankless task- check out the Beach Boys playing Johhny b Goode on Shindig or the Byrds' live version of "Beethoven". It just doesn't work.
All you morons who try to impress us with your insight on mistakes musicians make on live TV or in concert, etc. need to understand one thing. The musicians you are criticising were good enough to become very successful, no matter how many mistakes they made, and it's YOU watching THEM on youtube, not visa versa. How many times have you played in front of thousands in concert or live TV? I know the answer to that, A BIG ZERO! I guess if you were good enough, we would be watching you.
I am impressed with this clip......they are literally playing live....vocals and instruments.......even the way George stumbles through that lead guitar part is cool. Later on by 1967 his playing had really become outstanding
@BL80488 I am a guitarist and not only a beatles fan....but a HUGE George Harrison fan......and if you listen to the way the lead guitar part was on the record and listen to this....it's like 100% night and day difference. Granted George would have the studio advantage of doing it over and over till it was right for a recording.......some of his songs they did as many as 80 takes to get it right (i think "Something" took about 80 takes).....His playing is terrible on this particular video
@inkey2 I am a beatles fan and a Harrison fan, hes actually one of my favorite guitatists, I also play guitar and i agree about how his work got better and better BUT his lead on this is not terrible. something took 50 takes i believe and they wernt just for the guitar work. those takes were also for the bass line, the drums and the vocal... If you listen to the early takes youll find the lead is there in its entirety but the base line drum fills and the way he sings the vocals/harmonies change.
@atomicjulia can we all agree that john lennon had the most talent? he practically carried the beatles, and the superiority of us observe talent over looks which most little girls are only concerned about. for shame.
@emilioortiz14 Oh you're one of those people who assume shit about other people I see...yeah I actually listen to the Beatles because they're good looking, clearly their looks is the only thing I care about...
and actually they were all equally talented in their own different way,,,you're a prick you know...calling me a little girl...you don't even know me..
@emilioortiz14 no, we can't. everyone has they're own opinions and it's clear that part of your opinion is that we should all share the same opinion. The Beatles had some of the most talented people joined into one group, and I think that is one opinion we CAN all agree on.
@emilioortiz14 well, here is the deal.....in the beginning lennon was clearly the leader driving the group......but by the end it was clearly Paul (if you have ever watched the movie "Let It Be"). I think you could say it was 50/50..........but not 50/50 consistantly all through their career in the beatles....it shifted at one point
it was mimed sorry to tell you , what they used to do way back when , and this includes all the beat combo's of the time was to record the song 'live' in the afternoon and mime it 'live' for the transmission , it was a regular thing on ready steady go , look at any who performance from ready steady go for example , still fucking good though ! sometimes the instruments were recorded and the singer then sang live over recorded instruments , cheryl cole mines hers on a show that she judges wtf!!
If there was a scientific break-through and time-travel was possible but only to those who have the money, i would devote my entire life to making that money. Seeing The Beatles live is worth it.
@li2lu Yeah, Paul has a bit of a deeper voice, along with Ringo. He sings songs such as Paperback Writer, Get Back, Let it Be, etc. Well you get my point
@RickyGervaisFreak actually paul does the highest vocal harmonies in the band fallow by john who does middle and upper harmonies and then george who most of the time sings middle harmonies, and ringo only does lower harmonies
There´s no need to techology, it´s just a matter of talent..........if you´re good in what you do.....that`s enough.......Live the Beatles forever!!!!!!!
@urdanetahector I'm afraid that only applies to music and acting..... and maybe robots taking over the world... Technology is definitely a positive influence in the world, and as it grows, music and movies will get worse, but everything else will get better. So maybe there is a "need to technology".
seriously, urdanehector was only saying that the beatles rocked and that technology doesnt give people talent. at least thats what i think he/she said. but, really, u dont have to put it that way. the beatles were the best band in the world (thats what i think) and they didnt need technology to make that happen
It was exactly what i tried to say....you got it !!!!
Just look the video once again.....those gutars, the drum and the sound system can not be used today, they´re useless if they´re playing by 50 cent´s....or lady gaga...but the sound is really good performed by the beatles

I am old enough to be in a band when they Beatles hit.
George was a clean guitarist but he had the tastiest licks we had
heard in many years outside of jazz guys.
And the Songs!!
God, what a difference from the tin pan alley crap that clogged the airwaves!
He was of his time, and as such, he was unique, different, impeccable, and
with a wit, both in his verbal comments and his playing.
If you weren't there, you have no idea.
It was pretty cool.

There´s no need to techology, it´s just a matter of talent..........if you´re good in what you do.....that`s enough.......Live the Beatles forever!!!!!!!
urdanetahector 1 year ago
@urdanetahector I'm afraid that only applies to music and acting..... and maybe robots taking over the world... Technology is definitely a positive influence in the world, and as it grows, music and movies will get worse, but everything else will get better. So maybe there is a "need to technology".

@lizy4650
seriously, urdanehector was only saying that the beatles rocked and that technology doesnt give people talent. at least thats what i think he/she said. but, really, u dont have to put it that way. the beatles were the best band in the world (thats what i think) and they didnt need technology to make that happen

@JordynS1000
It was exactly what i tried to say....you got it !!!!
Just look the video once again.....those gutars, the drum and the sound system can not be used today, they´re useless if they´re playing by 50 cent´s....or lady gaga...but the sound is really good performed by the beatles
