Innovation, technology, new track records, excitment, and packed grandstands. That is what Indianapolis 500 pole day was all about. I sure hope the excitement like this returns to the Speedway.

I went to the 71 race and remember the early Donahue run and Revson
trying to catch Unser at the end. This is an excellent overview of a classic race
when it was as it's best. Brings back great memories.
