The disappearance of Jim Carter is one of the more intriguing - yet less known - mysteries that hang over the so called "Ape Canyon". We don't know what happened to Mr. Carter, but something sure as hell was going on, when his ski tracks showed the search party that he had performed seriously risky jumps and maneuvers all the way until the tracks ended. Maybe he was being chased by a bear? Maybe - I don't know. I'm not a bigfoot hunter or anything like that, but it is - interesting.
surely they could have followed the ski tracks to the end or if there was some bigfoot tracks aswell, surely they could have followed them too.either that or bigfoot can pick him up and fly!!!
If bigfoot really does exist how cool would it be if he looked like Harry from Harry and the Hendersons - I hope one day i will get the privledge and the honor of seeing a bigfoot up-close
Anyone ripping on Byrne or this film are just ignorant. This is a classic documentary and Byrne is a legend in both the sasquatch research community and in the safari/big game hunting world, which he no longer supports but is a rabid conservationist..thankfully. I love listening to Byrne and hope he has one more good interview/documentary/book left,he is aging and with him will go a vast knowledge of a time gone past. Gotta love Byrne...guys like him just dont exist anymore.
They make no mention of any foot prints of any nature period....in the 50s and before mysterious disappearances were not unheard of. They blamed something else ...just as bizarre as "sasquatch". The government was well aware of it.
@whatis250 Basically Peter Byrne is a thieving shit stain anyway, worse than Tom Biscardi and has accomplished less than that joke. So whenever you see something with his name on it, it is instant horse shit. The man has never even seen one despite "30 years of research", when in reality he is just a retired lazy fuck that never accomplished a damn thing.
@Smarigdine Because a jackass is a jackass, and this guy has ripped off/wrecked more people than you can count on your hands and feet...The guy knows jack about Bigfoot, Hunting, or the outdoors in general, he is a scam artist.
Peter Byrne was born in Ireland. Following service in the Royal Air Force during World War II, Byrne went to Northern India to work on a tea plantation. . In 1953 he started his own safari company which he ran for eighteen years. In 1957 Byrne embarked on a three year expedition to hunt and track down the yeti. In 1968 Byrne co-founded the International Wildlife Conservation Society, Inc. and serves as the executive director to this very day.``... Yep. He never did a thing..
I dont understand why they would think that the skier was attacked by a Bigfoot? There was no clear signs of one being near (ie the normal foot marks everyone speaks of) and no witness to says they say one. The are many reasons why he could have vanished.
For those who see the "In Search of" episode, "The Abominable Snowman" (it's on YouTube, BTW), might remember this scene at the start of the show at 08:14.
Peter Byrne rocks..
