I might be wrong, but this dosnt look like an open world mmo, it looks like an instanced mmo. I hope i am wrong, because i really want this game to be great, but if its not open world, it will fail. I have to admit, This does look cool. but I'm concerned as to the longevity of this game. I mean, i haven't seen anything of what end game contains. Should be curious to see how they will keep you playing and paying that monthly fee. In the end it's gonna rely on how well the game holds up and preforms in it's first month or two. If it can retain it's defectors from WoW and other mmo's + the starwars fan base it'll be a strong contender. I hope it does well.

It also soves a lot of points which vet MMO players dislike, like grinding. In this game you have up to 5 associates or workers, who do a lot of the grinding for you, even if your offline. They can gather material, craft gear and do other missions. Plenty of content, you have BGs, battles in space, lots of incredible planets to travel to, you have and raids called flashpoints. Its got eveything a good MMO has and more.

Hartnel1666, I disagree with how you think SWTOR will do. I think its going to do real well for many reasons, for one, the game is looking towards balancing PVP on a 1vs1 basis, which is something WoW refuses to do. SWTOR, has a lot going for it. You can do BGs, you can do battles in space with your personal spaceship, LOL that alone is good enough to attract many players.

This game looks soooooooooooo basic, i play Aion and I THINK it looks alot better in graphics and animation. Yay they put an in-depth story line into an MMO finally but imo thats crap seems like they're going to focus too much on that rather than the gameplay. Bounty hunter looks diabolical and the jedi looks very boring because of the animation, ye Aion has fairly crap classes but atleast they have a Gladiator :P

@trash656 It was a joke, but saying that this is going to be the greatest MMO ever is definitely not an understatement. Look at Bioware's track record, they haven't made a bad game yet, all of their games have scored incredible high, and all of them (with the exception of the Sonic RPG) are considered master works. So if someone asked me right now to bet which MMO could go toe to toe with WOW, I would have to say The Old Republic.

The graphics are really TERRIBLE. Seems like they're just trying to make it look more realistic than say, wow, but they really can't pull that off with those kind of graphics. It all ends up just looking more lonely and dull, kind of like AoC, just worse. At least WoW graphics have charm.

the storyline is all messed up. the imperials do not arrived until Palpatine establishes the galatic empire which is still about 3000 years away. It looks cool despite the inaccurate plot.

Also note that the symbols on the red flags are imperials symbols. Finally, the main antagonist(Dark Jedi) mentions a GRAND MOFF at minute 1:46, This position was created by the Galatic Empire as they represent regional governors. They are using Galatic Empire terms which are still 3000 yrs away. Star wars philosophy can also b app to our world civ.

I stand correct, for the most part all Empires are of Imperial decent. The point that I was making is that the Galatic Empire has already been defeated, in the Star Wars, and most characters (Solo's children, Luke's Wife and child, all the main characters) now refer to the Gal. Empire as the Imperial, because it has been defeated. I viewed as an entity of the past and therefore I refer to as the Imperial. Either way it is the same Empire, my original point was on the post that is titled 6 days
