No its not about the oil in Afghanistan but CIA intervention. They trained the Afghan people to reduce the Soviet presence in the region. The soviets were there since the 1700s & provided Afghanistan money and weapons. The same time the CIA were there, the CIA instigated the Iraq and Iran war, gave arms to Sadam hussein including chemical bombs used on the iranians. in the same war the U.S armed Iran, known as the Iran contra affair. No its not about the oil in Afghanistan but CIA intervention. They trained the Afghan people to reduce the Soviet presence in the region. The soviets were there since the 1700s & provided Afghanistan money and weapons. The same time the CIA were there, the CIA instigated the Iraq and Iran war, gave arms to Sadam hussein including chemical bombs used on the iranians. in the same war the U.S armed Iran, known as the Iran contra affair. The wars in the middle east were started by britain (BP).
