Hey thanks for the video. Just ordered one, but I was wondering, do you really need this Y-shaped USB cable? How about the power/signal single usb cable that came with the modem ?
I have ZTE MF622 HSDPA USB MODEM 7.2mb/s and it's working only with 2mb/s because I have a bad signal, but I wan't to know if it would be faster I mean stronger signal if I would use this router
The router cannot improve that in an way. The reason you're only getting 2Mbps can be as a result of a lot of things, and not necessarily signal. The entire base station can only handle 7.2Mbps, and everyone has to share that total speed.
Bought Dovado UMR for creating wireless network using Huawei E220...within 10 minutes up & running, fabulous router! Had to wait till was in South Africa, but Incredible Connection store sells for 1800 Rand (EUR 130), with 10% tax rebate at airport.
One question: I have a Time Capsule that want to connect (802.11n)... can I connect TS as base station via WAN to UMR and then get faster internet connection to my MacBook? Or does it not matter (i.e. connect TS as network client). Anyone know?
cool. i need one. i have a huawei e220 from vodafone. it hangs when i plug my computer into my network hub. i need to connect to my xbox and dreambox but modem hangs when i plug the lan cable into my computer. stupid. maybe i need the dovado? any suggestions pls?
Darn! A couple of months back we bought the Draytek Vigor 2910 for 190 Euros and that has only one USB connection on it! Do you know whether the Dovado supports the ZTE MF622 now?
Hi jpodder. No 802.11n. It's not standardized, there aren't that many people (I'd say less than 0.001% of all WiFi users) that have it in their PC, and the chipset prices along with extra antennas would only jack up the price of the UMR.
lol your upload speed is way better than mine :)

could i plug a USB modem straight into the back of it and would my laptop recognise it even though its not plugged into the laptop itself

1) Insert USB modem into the DOVADO UMR.
2) Connect to the DOVADO UMR via WiFi or LAN port
3) Configure the DOVADO UMR with your operator Access Point Name (APN) and your USB modem's SIM card PIN code.
4) Happy surfing!

any idea on the ZTE MF626? as far as i know, just about the same as the 622 but a built in microSD card reader, usable as a storage stick.
even if the modem works, would there be a way to access the storage part?

Yeah, it'll suppport the ZTE MF622 in the next firmware release, due out in a week or two. It's already working today in a beta.

I guess I could connect it to Apple's AirPort Extreme Base Station or Time Capsule to get the "N"-connectivity. If only I had one...
Is it possible to change the antenna (to a similar one but with a wider range)?
jpodder 3 years ago
yup, sure is.

Just what I was looking for. I have a Huawei E220 that I'd love to connect to a WiFi / 802.11 b and 802.11g router.
Will the router support 802.11n? Might need the longer range...
