  • BUT... if I pay for the good notes, and than just share them with lots of friends , or just ask less money for it than Notewagon.. this means huge lost opportunities. Only one student needs to ask for certain notes and then everybody else can copy it for whoever thats interested in it.

Or do they have a solution for this?

  • There was something like this on shark tank.

  • do this in the uk and be prepared to be taken to court, what is to stop people buying university material for budget price?

  • @eazi0 Launching UK very soon.

  • I feel like more people would be inclined to use this if notewagon stopped spamming the shit out of university Facebook pages

  • Man I'd make a killing on this in the UK.

  • does this exist anywhere else? or just canada..

I'm a student in the uk and i would love to use this :)

  • Bruce is the cheap person on the show and looking for the best bargain and not the business man other on the panel.

  • I would like to say that Bruce is the dump person on the show and he does not make any decision and he just the observer on the show and should be out of it.

  • This hit Ryerson university (Toronto) already. I don't know how they are doing but I personally would never pay for notes. How hard it is to ask your class mate for notes ??? Plus you can make friends during the process. If you are too shy, google it, I have learnt a lot googling things.

  • @k3nuot you obviously haven't been in uni for long... Its a death trap there, everyone is out to get everyone else to fail, not only does making your class mates fail increase your success rate, it takes away later competition for markets. This allows you to get good notes that actually teach you what you need to know.

  • @MtotheN1 I graduated from a 4 years program + 1 and a half year studying miscellaneous courses trying to figure out what I really want at U of T (1 of the most competitive universities in Canada), it was a bad move. However, I never had problem asking for note. I understand what you talking about but not everybody is out there is doing what you just described.

  • Dude, WTF? I have this in my high school already, AND WE DO IT FOR FREE! WTFFF

  • @miyor123 That makes them great businessmen.

  • I'm sorry, but this is exactly what is wrong with this generation. This whole idea is based on the premise of slacking off and encourages students not to attend class. You can coat it all you want with "other responsibilities" but you know it and I know it, the majority of people using this site would be slackers. These guys are clearly intelligent and entreprenerial, it is almost like a shame their talents aren't being put to better use. This provides no substance, no real innovation to our gen

  • This will collide with plagiarism and copyright laws without a doubt.

  • That was an amazing idea.

  • I think this is a fantastic idea of making money. It can encourage and motivate a lot students to create a study habit in order to be well rewarded. A very good idea, indeed.

  • First of all have you got any Friends ? Just passing you the notes of the lesson?? How you can be sure about the notes? May be there is a business but not in an Healty way

  • Thumbs up if your from WATERLOO! WOOT WOOT!

  • This is just a copy of a shark tank's (American) deal. Wow, no wonder no one likes fucking canadians....

  • @bearofhonor Shark Tank is based on Dragons Den (UK). That was based on an older Japanese Version.

  • @bearofhonor lolol all created by...wait for it.. A CANADIAN

  • @coolguyuno1 That is not true. We did not agree to their terms after the show. We did not end up signing the agreement and instead decided to raise money in San Francisco. The company is now has a satelite office in san fran.

  • The faggots back out of this deal also. They lied to the kids.

  • @Coolguyuno1 how do you know that?

  • @FreeHeathen It was on the news.

  • my cousins at UW for software engineering.

  • @hansonkewl06 Better product. Diverse vision in terms of how we plan to expand the product. I know the Notehall guys really well though.. great people =)

  • @nomanissafe Already doing it =)

  • @puburman The idea is to empower students to share classroom information. We are not set on notes only.. we do have extensive plans to expand the product to encompass student2student collaboration. The idea is that students in a class can be a comprehensive part of the learning environment.

  • Actually our university simply puts the lectures online (video) and the tutors are paid to prepare comprehensive notes, the students get access to these when they enroll in the courses, so is idea will become obsolete pretty quickly ... LOLAGE!

  • That sounds like a pretty cheesy idea.

  • My brother got a job interview with these guys!

  • Great JOB Television Shows. Now GOOGLE, Yahoo, facebook and EVEN ME :D Will try to do this. :D Great Idea! No seriously I will do this. I am a web developer and I got tons of contacts. Thanks :) anyone wana thumbs up?

  • @TheBinaryHacker There's something called patents.

  • @MyPeesBrightYellow Can you patent ideas? Isn't that like patenting "search engines" ... I'm pretty sure that can't be done ...

  • @pubuman haha good point.

  • @TheBinaryHacker So... have you done it yet?

  • GUELPH

  • someone should invent a killer app on facebook and drive these bastards outta business

  • This is ridiculous. Kevin acting like he's never heard anything like it before.. 'I did a little research into this..' ...ya! ;) (cough) shark tank

  • same as the website that featured on shark tank last year isnt it? except a Canadian edition?

  • LOL! SILENCED 5:30

  • @850iStyle lol which was Rude i thought considering these young entrepreneurs are sitting on something that asshole could become a billionaire with treating them like some stupid desperate children for his dollars when they could earn it i months.

  • man some of these presentations are so cheesy

  • Or you could just read your textbook and lecture notes =|

  • i know that guy his my brother friends

  • this idea is not new. there is a site that's been doing this called notehall.com check it out.

  • Yea, so proud to be from Waterloo!

  • This is a great business idea. I know this, having gone to university and studied largely in liberal arts. You need to understand most university arts students' lives. The studies are purely factual about course topics: just take the knowledge we teach you, remember it, and regurgitate it during tests. This, sadly, has nothing to do with personal experience or interpretation. Consequently, most university students aren't that interested in what they study. So they need study tools like this

  • i have saif on my facebook lol... met the guy in person when he was first launching the idea, and i have to say, he's a great guy :)

  • what a stupid idea. nobody will pay for notes that you can get ff a peer for free.

  • @reu91 not sure who told you that.. but we always retained a 50% margin since inception. We eventually do want to change the pricing model to subscription as we add more features.. but for the time being it has been working for us and our content contributors.

  • I remember when these guys first started out they told me we get to keep 100% of the profits for the first 10 notes or so then they start taking about 20% of the profits. Now it's half. I don't like their change in policy and buying notes online is basically for people with no friends in the class. Even various student associations have a more comprehensive collection of past year papers and notes shared in their forums for free.

  • how is this different than Notehall? It was featured in Shark Tank

  • @hansonkewl06 i was thinking just that, wonder which one came first

  • @kockieboi Notewagon provides a variety of study guides, notes, practice problems and other information. Students contribute to information and knowledge from courses they are taking and share it with their peers.

  • Too bad class notes are useless 99% of the time

  • Lolol, it's illegal. fail venture is fail.

  • UW ALL DAYYY

  • @pumpman Saif was in Environmental Engineering. He decided to drop out to pursue NoteWagon full-time. The team is residing in a hacker house in DT Toronto.

  • woooooo saif @ guelph !!

  • go notewagon!

  • Obviously the brown guy is an experienced bargainer (Y)

  • Where's Ali?

  • WOO Stacey! =) I go to guelph university and I swear I've seen Saif around, congrats!

  • Waterloo makes quality students!!

  • @Kehwishl never heard of it

  • Comment removed

  • Where's Ali-Reza in this? He's the other co-founder...

  • I thought you were supposed to study and shit

  • I cant wait to interview these guys

  • Saif is from Guelph... but the company is located in Waterloo.

  • "I get paid to go to school" - epic shirts :)

  • They didn't even mention University of Guelph.... Saif the original founder is from UoG.

  • Water Water Water
