  • "There are two types of mornings/mournings in this life I can surmise

I wake early in the first to help supply the second type"

    That is all.

  • The fine thing is that you can choose whether he shoots the girl, himself or his commanding officer at the end.

  • @MegaDEFCON no you can't. The dialog at the end makes it clear he shot the girl.

  • So disturbing

  • God El-P, this album just gets better with age.

  • haha. tairyhesticles

  • This song is amazing.

  • This shit should be bumping in Mass Effect 2 when you go to pick up Jack.

  • @corpseaholic

haha thats exactly what i thought of when playing that game

  • I uploaded the high quality version of this... Sorry I just can't stand 240p.. it ruins songs with this much production

  • In addition this is a cold song when you get in to it, but goddamn it's beautiful. It's one of the few songs that don't need visuals to play a movie in your head.

  • The song has many perspectives, like most of his and Cage's makes. But the most 'clear' in this story is: A Ship Guard(Executor?) falls in love with a female prisoner. -- Prisoners are shot execution style (Like at the beginning). He then goes into fantasizing about how their lives would be "Away from all this violence, live inside eachother's head." Then he snaps back into reality where his superior gets impatient and screams for him to fire; where he executes her. The outro further explains.

  • it's basically a song that means the difference between what people do and what they dream about made into a sci-fi criterion collection concept on audio

  • TAIRY HESTICLES YOU NEED YOUR OWN RADIO SHOW

  • Song is so amazing, but I HATE the outro. Completely ruins that little world that you were just in

  • @foulchusky That's the point of it. His mind and where he wishes he could be, as opposed to the reality he's forced to live in.

  • Damn cage and el have chemistry

  • Oh wow, I come across another great artist, and it just so happens TairyHesticles is the one who uploads it...again. props.

  • if you listen, he doesn't shoot the girl hes talking about. the woman says "247690 Zed step to the line" but el says "247290 Zed" throughout the song. two different numbers.

  • @TheFlightOfMurphy He maybe misspelled it. It's a simple story, no need to screw with it. As much as it screws with my head.

  • @TheFlightOfMurphy Heh, yeah you do have a point with that. Oddly enough all the lyric sites say otherwise but what you hear from the song is all too true (She clearly says 247690 Zed. The 'Six' can't be mistaken for a 'two'), so I suppose all we can do is use our imagination until he describes the song in his own words lol

  • anyone know what this song is about? only say if you know for fact from what El himself said and not just waht you think it is....

  • if story telling and music fucked and had babies, this would be the alpha male

  • Damn, in my opinion, this is by far EL-Ps best track up to now and one of the most intense songs I#Ve ever heard. It sounds like the musical version of 1984.

  • these two crush life with this

  • where im at, a lot of kids think "underground" is just when no one knows about an artist....and then once they blow up, they're mainstream all of a sudden. like this idiot in one of my classes who goes around saying Jedi Mind Tricks, Mr. Lif, Immortal Technique and all these underground legends are mainstream. Dumbass, underground is like a style to me i guess. Intelligent dope lyrics that make you think, spit over DOOOOPPPPEEE beats = underground. atleast to me i guess...

  • Fuck yes, I wish there was more shit of this nature, especially in Cages discography..

  • this is real rap. fuck lil wayne... he cant even touch this song

  • 2 people are deaf

  • @jeremyistwocool

    And certainly not Def.

  • "There are two types of mornings in this life I can surmise

I wake early in the first to help supply the second type"

    Dope Line

  • i found love on a prison ship?!

  • @feelingBEEF That's what I keep hearing.

  • This song makes me happy

  • I always spill heineken, by no fault of my own, on my computer when I play this song

Ok it's my mistake but the intro is a good disruptive sound

  • Away from all this violence live inside each others heads...

  • Every incredible underground song I stumble upon, I always find uploaded by Tairy Hesticles. You have the best music taste I've ever seen Mr. Hesticles. Thank you for sharing these amazing songs with the world.

  • In Agreement-Props Tairy!!!

  • empty4330 i agree el-p needs to come to chicago

  • make his way up to mineap..

    give me what i need

  • cage ill as always

  • "the cross hair in my eye is a vessel to god"

    hahahaha

  • EL-P is the truth. I wish he would stop by Chicago more often.

  • Wish he would come here too. Nothing good ever really plays in Omaha (save a few recent concerts)

  • Damn TairyHesticles, I should have subscribed to you earlier.... Nice music

  • Thanks man.

  • i wish they made a video for this song maybe something like ill bills war is my destiny tell me that wouldnt be insane

  • the song sounds like everything that has happened since the begining of time. The great thing about it is that this song actually taps into the hopeless romanticism that is unfortunatley is pushed down from those overly repeated militant wash.

  • dark song....damn

  • My Language Arts teacher made us listen to it and analyse it. I got half of it at first, but damn, it's complicated. That's why it's underground, cause people will automatically change it cause they don't understand, but I don't care, I like it. 8D

  • dang i wish i had teachers that brought up stuff this awesome.. closest thing i got was a tupac song and alphabet aerobics by blackalicious haha they're not bad though, blackalicious impressed me.

  • College teacher?

  • No, tenth grade world lit/comp

  • what the fuck you lucky fuck

  • Well haha! My teachers are fun and laid back, but they still do their jobs, but he picks on people too much.

  • That would be tight to have a teacher who picked on people

I'd go bar for bar with that nigga.

  • Well I've had one of those since seventh grade, so all my classes are funny. XD

  • its good but its too busy.. dark tho (l)

  • "I'm the first to touch her w.o gloves, she's the first to kiss me w.o crying"...Ahh the story of me and my first love. lol

  • Hahahahahahaha.

  • classic...i love the evil production.

  • thats one of my favorite lines

  • amazing song!

  • El-P is incredible. this song is really unsettling..

  • very unsettling. pretty damn brilliant

  • yeh tairyhesticles you only put up the best man.

    keep it upp

  • Thanks!!!

  • Like the underground rapper Phonte of little brother says, People dont' like u anymore when they can't keep u to themselves in a little box. Somewhere along those lines, but u get the point. This el-p track is the shit tho!

  • You have no idea how right my head is screwed on.

  • Who's on this track except El-P?

  • Cage.

  • fuck all the shit u got is bad specially necro mr nogatco dr octagon gza el-p souls of mischief immortal technique all of its great

    KEEP IT UP

  • Thanks man! I appreciate the feedback. Good lookin'.

  • there are two types of mornings in this life i can surmise

i wake early in the first to help supply the second type

    blablabla good shit

  • great song

  • Away from all this violence live inside each others heads.

  • this song is absolutely brilliant. enough said

  • pick of the album for me, in some ways

    superb

  • I love the artistry in his lyrics, and how the story evolves.

  • And A Scanner Darkly

  • I would have to agree, if EL-P did an entire album dedicated to something like this, it would be amazing. I know he is a huge PKD fan. So I imagine that's where he got the inspiration for this song (The Man In The High Castle/Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep) maybe....

  • If El-P could maintain this kind of dark theme throught an entire and include some guest artists, it may be the best album since Deltron 3030.

  • Goddamn, Deltron 3030 was amazing. Can't wait for Event Two. Del at his best. His ability to write amazing lyrics while keeping to the beat is arguably second to none. I'd like to see him own shitty "rappers" like 50 Cent and Lil Wayne in a freestyle. I wish he would challenge himself more, instead of doing what people expect him to do.

If El-P did an entire album based off of the stuff of PKD, I'd shit myself, no lie. That'd be fucking amazing. Especially if he did an entire around this song.

  • By the way, my below comment was supposed to be a response to TairyHesticles below, but it didn't place it there.

Fucking amazing song, BTW. El-p always satisfys, even, surprisingly, his album for the Blue Series, High Water.

  • El-P is one of the most creative and versatile artists i have ever encountered. This is also one of the most tragic and hauntingly horrifying songs i have ever heard, en par with the likes of Dance with the Devil by Immortal Technique. Massive respect to El-P, and big hopes that he and other artists like him continue to create unique and challenging music.

  • This song is incredible, but it will never be on the level that "Dance with the Devil" is. I will never hear another song like that again. If I do, it will be emceed by my new favorite hip hop artist.

  • Well said. Plus One from me bro.

  • Cage is PERFECT for voicing the first guard.

This song is a perfect example of how hip-hop is miles away from gangstah rap in terms of talent. Gangstah rap can't even come CLOSE to writing like this - a brilliantly written, yet spooky story of love, lust and rebellion trapped into a split second thought, lost in the abyss; a horrid nightmare-world that El-P has thought up.

Hell, even the melodies change depending on who's singing.

  • Looks like you know your hip hop.

  • I LOVE Hip-Hop. Cant stand gangstah rap but LOVE Hip-Hop. El-P, Aesop Rock, Mr. Lif, Cann Ox, Cage, Control Machete, Shing02... Hell even the Beastie Boys. Good stuff.

  • Don't forget MF Doom, Eyedea, Immortal Technique, Peanut Butter Wolf, Binary Star, ect...

  • Why can't you stand "gangstah rap"? Some of you so called "heads" are caught up in trying to listen to the "REAL HIP HOP". There is a place for everything. Not everything mainstream is garbage...

  • very true...however...seing how mainstream music is defined by music listened to by the most people; and seeing how most people are ignorant and not free thinking, most of their music reflects that mindstate...there are a few exceptions tho

  • Thank you...I can't stand these kids that think underground is a style they need to follow - lol- it's just a position the rapper is in...oh, and god forbid that underground rapper blows up cuz then all his backpacker fans will call him a sellout ....ughhhh -Silly kids! HipHop is bigger than that, Grow up! don't disregard something cuz lots of other people know it or like it...

  • to be fair, most of it is garbage, and that's no coincidence

  • For sure!

    like i like yak ballz

But I still think Wale` is tight

And that new drake song isnt even that bad

    Music is music.

  • @aesopk but then how can they tie up their image of self in it though? Actually developing a personality is scary, just hiding behind the music they listen too is much easier.

  • At least Jay-Z, Nas and Rae/Ghost were dope as gangsta rappers [on some songs we can add Inspectah Deck[but he fell off haaaaard] and GZA]

But I agree. Def Jux are incredible as a whole.

  • great song

  • this is my favorite song off his last album.

  • Agreed. This is by far the best track on the CD. I wish El-P would have stuck a little closer to this concept throughout the whole album. He did for 2 or 3 tracks near the middle/end of the record, but it would have been great to get a complete El-P concept album.

  • MIne Too!!!

  • awesome song. dang cant believe nobody comments on it yet... more folks should hear this guy.
