    :D

  • @farblonjet

Silly...Peanut is my husband's (the man in the video) name!

  • @ndenneysac that makes no sense as you you call peanut a girl - 34 seconds in- .. unless your husband is a female ! ?

  • @ndenneysac ur husbands name is peanut???

  • I have a Westie named Scott and he learned to swim without any training or coat!

I think they are good learners!

    PS:Love Westies

  • love the pool i want one...and cute dog

  • nice pool and great dog! my westie did not like the water at all.

  • my mom is scared my dogs skin will get weird if he goes swimming...

  • Nice pool, dude! I love Westies!!!

  • she's so cute

My westie loves to go swimming in the pool to and he has the same jacket but red

  • aw<33

  • Huge pool!! My dog is too chicken to go near the pool

  • aww look at his life jacket cute

  • I wish my westie would swim. When she was a puppy, we always told her not to go near the water, and ever since she has been afraid to go swimming

  • the chlorine doesn't turn their coats green?

  • We have two Westie who love too swim and have never had a problem with their coats turning green.

  • nope! well..we have had my westie for 7 yrs and her coat has never turned green!

  • how cute!!

  • my little Westie knows to swim perfect. these westie's are A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E

  • ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR adorable lol x

  • My little westie would wear the same kind of floaty thing and when he gets tired he just floats around barking till I take him out :].

  • my dog is afraid of the water or the pool anyways he is afraid when we tried to put him in the pool and he left a couple of marks on my cousin. can you type on how to teach your dog to swim?

  • make sure your dog is comfortable before going on to next step!

    1. fill up a kiddie pool halfway, put little pieces of hotdogs on a floatie thing. praise the dog for going in.

    2. fill up the kiddie pool all the way, encourage the dog to go in. more treats and praise.

    3. put the dog (with life jacket) on the first step into the pool. praise dog.

    4. in "sessions" building from 30 seconds to 5 min, gently lead dog around in pool. more praise! more treats!

Eventually your dog will see that it's fun.

  • good video :)

  • thanks

  • im getting a westie next week and i have a pool too how do you teach westies how to swim and is it hard

  • Westies love the water and take to it quite easily. We have a two year old westie who is learning to swim. She love to float around the pool on a raft and will swim quite well when we put her in the water. Neither dog will just jump in on their own but both seem to love it. Congrats on getting a westie...they are WONDERFUL!!

  • i am getting a westie soon and this vid is makin me soo eager

btw any advice would be great!

  • Westies are absolutely wonderful pets! We have two. A word of advice however, puppies need a lot of TIME...they are very independent and will soon rule the house unless you are available to train them everyday. They should not be left on their own. I predict that you will love Westies and never have another breed.

  • thanks

btw what do westies like doing

for example do they like peanutbutter

    soccer balls etc.

    are they natrual swimmers

sry if i am loading you w/ too much questions

  • Westies love their toys! Peanut loves toys with squeekers. However, our year old puppy, Lola, destroys every toy we give her! Both dogs love to swim. Peanut is 12 years old and loves traveling. Their favorite thing to do is go for walks. If you check out our other videos on YouTube you will find Peanut in practically all of them. Keep me posted on your new Westies. And ask any questions, I will be happy to answer all.

    Nancy

  • One more comment...Westies are totally creatures of habit. Once they get into a routine they insist on keeping it forever!

  • do you know where i can get a westie...

i have been looking for one like for ever!

  • we got a westie

    he is soooooooo cute

byw do you think it is too cold to teach him how to swim?

  • Congrats on your new westie! I don't know where you live but I would think that it is too cold now for swimming. I would love to see a pic or video. Keep me posted on your puppy.

  • My westie Mia adore water but she can`t jump in the pool

  • Bentley Jeeves, our 4-year-old male, doesn't like the water. Cute that Peanuts does. (Sweet name, too.)

  • This is precious. I have my first Westie, Spencer, who is 9 months. He is a very special boy, but his kidneys are not forming correctly. With that being said I just melt when I see adult Westies knowing that my Spencer won't make it to be an adult. Enjoy Peanut..she seems like a very special girl.

  • AWESOME!

  • This is so cute! I can tell that Peanut is loved very much. Where did you get the life jacket? My westie will be ready to swim next summer and I want to be ready!

  • Yes, Peanut is definitely the queen of our home! She is a wonderful dog, eleven years old. We got the life jacket at Petsmart. We also have a year old puppy and she is also learning to swim. Good luck with your Westie...enjoy!

  • Now that is one happy little fellow! Westies are the best. Piper, ours, love to chase Canada geese into the pond. They hiss, but they RUN!!

  • awww look at the doggys tail wagging--my dog hates getting wet
