  • If you have a perfect one, still in the box, with the key, it can fetch upwards of 20K. Not too many of those out there. They started in 1886 and were made until about 1916. By the Sheppard Hardware Company. Most good working, fair paint models go for about 2000-3000. I am not lucky enough to have one. Although I have a few "Book of Knowledge" banks that are still cast iron and look great. Lucky you for having one...

  • One way to tell if it is a reproduction is the door on back. Most repros don't have one. It shouldn't say "Taiwan" on the bottom either....lol

  • i have the same thing. they sell for 800 dollers now

  • their also a reproduction ,still very cool found out mine is still cast iron .

  • what year is this ??

  • Awesome antique bank! Looks like it's in great condition, too, given its age! Whoever bought this is a very lucky person.

  • I have one does anybody know a site to price it's worth I've looked but I can't find one it's 100% cast iron from top to bottom as well as the plug in the bottom

  • i have one of those

  • tubemusicdownload com to get this song

  • i just looked this up and the original is worth between 6 and 7 thousand dollars

  • i just bought one at a flea market today for$10.ithink it could be original, but i'm not sure.

  • The org. uncle same bank goes for about 5,000

  • is it really worth that much i have 1 sitting right here. how do i sell it?

  • Ebay is popular but I wouldn't sell it on ebay.I have looked and there are about 2 pages of them. Some are reproduction and are the original ones. Try calling a local antique dealer and ask about shops that will sell it for you or (if you go to one) see if its the original. be cautious of some people though (they would like to get there hands on something that valuable, tell you is less money, then sell it for lots more)

    Hope that helps :)

  • I have one, but I think it's a reproduction. How can I tell?

  • You can do a few things to tell if its the original or reproduction.

    1. Go on online to research it or to find a book about it. If you find a book on it call the library and ask if they have it first before going.

    2. Call a local antique dealer and ask if they have someone there who can tell you the value of your item.

    Hope that helps :)

  • Do you know the value of this bank?

  • visit ebay store opamerica to find value on this bank and other great items.

  • hey my dad has that except its in alot better shape. alot better it looks almost new. you can tell its old though

  • Ha, ha! Strong symbolism.
