Dexter realized that he loved Rita, he used her as cover but it became more than that. Dexter says he has no feelings and that he's a monster but she really made a big impact on him. Love Dexter
Ok... Just some stuff for all the people who think season 5 sucked... When you give me five to ten reasonable answers on why it sucked soo much then I will honor ur opinion. BTW stop being mad at the Showtime writers, Julie Benz QUIT for a job that pays more then Dexter... I'm glad she died.. She talks way to fucking soft, like a mouse and Dexter couldn't breathe.. Also whether you hated Rita or not, she was NOT a slut or a whore AT ALL, she NEVER cheated on Dexter, unless that small kiss with that guy who lived next door counts, but it doesn't, because she told Dex straight away. Dexter on the other hand, cheated on her with Lila in season 2 and used her as cover, and got her murdered.

The fucking of Lila happened AFTER THAT! Rita got mad and decided to count it as cheating just because she expected Dexter to spend a few days sulking.
SHE knew it. but Dexter didn't. You have to remember how socially fucked in the head he is in regards to what people mean as opposed to what they do. Don't you recall Deb talking to him about and him being unsure?

for 5 years Dexter has claimed he has no emotion, that he was faking everything with Rita and the kids, we, the audience knew otherwise very early on. but to see him finally realize how much he loved his wife, was heartbreaking

i never say this about any tv character but watching this scene makes my heart break for dexter..his speech was so honest and straight from the heart!
