  • @Hittman305 hai friend , which theater now you working . i am a projectionist . from south india pls mail me my e mail is rajeeshperiyar@yahoo.in

  • @Hittman305 this theater is actually all digital now

  • @Hittman305 i was going slow so you could catch it on video, my average time for a thread was about one to one and a half minuets.

  • I prefer the hands on lacing-up I’m not fan of digital hard-drive cinema its button pushing its not a real job which is why I don’t care to do projection ever again.

  • not ride! RUN! sorry!

  • Hallo and happy new Year from a projectionist colleague in Germany!. We ride Cinemeccanica (Italy) and Kinoton (Germany). Just write me friend.

  • @Micha35 happy new year to you as well my fellow projectionist =]

  • @podlypants no offence but she's cute

  • Thumbs up if you think the projectionist is cute. :)

  • whats the point of this? you must be out of the job by now, film is not even used anymore, where is this place??? I guess they let anyone do that jobs these days as its obsolete, you know, being a girl and all...

  • @AndyBradley Everything in that theater just went all digital about a month ago.

  • and how you found the job since? You still the projectionist? How many screens, projectionists are there? Do you still need a stool, or is there a man doing the job now?

  • @AndyBradley I still work at the movie theater, we have 10 screens, we don't technically nee projectionists anymore because the movies start by themselves, but you do need someone to load the movies onto the projectors hard drives. and who the hell cares if I'm a girl or not.

  • do you not have film as a backup? do the digitals ever mess up?

Its just odd is all... kind of a mans job:)

  • @AndyBradley no film as a backup, our film projectors are being sold, they are no longer up and running. So if there is a malfunction we just shut down the projector and restart it, it takes about 15 min for it to reboot which is kind of a pain, but other than that its way easier that fixing a movie that has fallen on the floor =]

  • @podlypants whats new with you???

  • @AndyBradley oh not much, i was thinking about asking the theater owner if i could go in the booth and film all the new machines =]

  • @podlypants yeh u should do it. U on skype? wana have a random conversation about projection?

  • @AndyBradley i dont have skype, sorry friend

  • @AndyBradley wether its digital or not, projectionists are still needed to run them, most cinemas still use reels as digital costs abit much

  • @BloodHawkDexxa you think digital costs more then making a 35mm combined sound picture print and shipping it around the world?

  • @AndyBradley No, as i used to work for a megaplex they dont want to get rid of the reels as digital is kinda new and costs to buy new stuff for it,

  • @BloodHawkDexxa yeh but it still costs more for the production companies to create show prints to tape or harddrives.

  • whats the point of this? you must be out of the job by now, film is not even used anymore, where is this place??? I guess they let anyone do that jobs these days as its obsolete, you know, being a girl and all...

  • actually went up to the projection booth to wipe my ass

  • wow that looks confusing...wouldn't it be easier with a dvd lol

  • Pretty interesting lace up. At the west end the platters are on the other side, and lacing up 'fast' is discouraged (though i'm sure there have been quite a few people who have tried). Personally i prefer Christe lamphouses with Victoria 5 heads. The Strong heads are fiddly - and their turrets take ages to rotate, though they do make very good platters...

  • I'm also a projectionist. Several people have told me their favorite weapon is a Simplex projector-not only to show movies but also to beat some idiot who wants to mess with them senseless

  • Actually, this is pretty cool because there arn't that many female projectionists. Regarding the film on the floor, isn't that just the leader so no harm done?

  • you know, I really don't know why either, but it seems to be a pretty big deal. I work in concession and I'm pretty new, but my best guess is it could get damaged and get caught up in the projector? maybe? I really have no clue, but I'm gonna ask someone tonight. haha.

  • i saw this done live in cornwall the other day its a very hands on job.

  • What a pain in the ass that job is!

  • She is good, but why does get film on the floor? in the 1960ties you would get a good kicking of the boss, she wants to do some real projection work...peerles magnarcs 7/8 carbons westar/century 2001 on 2000ft change overs.2ins slides...you know lol

  • tisk tisk the leader was on the floor.

  • but then again im a MASTER PROJECTIONIST so I dont use them much anymore. if the film falls well they fall and if your a good MASTER PROJECTIONIST you can fix a film in under 10mins.

    REGAL SUCKS BALLZ

  • wow, ive never seen a blue brain before, ive only seen the all black ones with the smaller rollers, the blue tree is different too

  • I thinks the equipment in the video is Christie's. My theatre uses the all black ones with the small guard rollers too.

  • ohhhh man I use the sticky pads but ive never seen that black ring before thats WEIRD!!!!

    HULEN MOVIE TAVERN #1!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what the fuck is that big black ring for??

  • it's to help keep the movie from falling off the platter, you know, just in case.

  • That was the same question I had! Now I know!
