Read somewhere that this particular piece of music (among others) had started to be used instead of drugs with pain killer effects on patients on some hospital... That's why I looked it up on Youtube, totally understand why now...

Yes, marvelous, a rich melancholy and equally rich chords to express it. Strikes me as almost a Folk Song in character.

Yes, I agree, Winter's tale has a lot of Nordic sound in it. A little Grieg, a little Sibelius and perhaps a touch of Peterson-Berger, a Swedish composer.
