The essence of this trick is not to bend your hinge in the slightest. Like wolfemane14 said a used hinge is better but no damage should come out of this trick like The Squeeze. You are only supposed to lightly touch your lidback making it bounce and flicking it the rest of the way. This is one of my favorite tricks to use and my seven year old hinge on my first zippo is still intact despite literally hundreds of these.
