Of course, the Catholic Church has its own version of events, as it does for a great many periods in history that most historians find highly unconvincing. I guess that when one's perspective is so deferential to the Catholic position and its whitewashed version of events, one can look at an objective take on things and see it as being Protestant propaganda. An actual Protestant take on Mary would probably give you a heart attack.
