Given the stock and the engraved "auto",I was about to assume you were using an M4. I honestly did not know the M16A1 featured full auto. Myself I've only used the M16A2 and M249 SAW. The barrel assembly is unknown to me, but that is likely part of your 22lr conversion kit and silencer. But other than more affordable ammo and virtually no recoil, what is the point of converting it?
I've been shot in the calf muscle with a .22 round, it stings a bit, but its not too bad, removed the bullet myself with my fingers, took a couple of weeks for the wound to heal and another couple of months for the muscle to be pretty much back to normal. The shock and sting does make you loose your focus for about 3-4 secs, which is plenty for the other person.

This was all too dramatic- and while I like the idea of having an AR-15 conversion kit to throw in once in a while, converting a perfectly good, fully-automatic firearm to a .22 seems a little saddening. Especially considering how much an M-16 would cost you.

@MrRevoluzzer You don't get it. People shoot .22 mainly because it's cheap and fun to shoot, not because they want stopping power. I'm sure most of the people who have .22 conversion kits also have/keep the original barrel and full power ammo for home defense
@MrRevoluzzer You may want to check your figures on the 9mm. I shoot and reload .45 and 9mm. A .45 has a penetrating depth of 27 in and the 9mm has 24 inches of penetrating depth. The 9mm is also great for creating hydrostatic shock also. I love my .45, but can't give up the 9mm.

@MaxKarch It's called a Class 3 Federal Firearms License. That will allow you to own automatic weapons as well as short barreled rifles. Along with other things, but those are the two main ones.

@Forbidenangel0 nah the 7.62 much heavy grain than the 5.56 and obviously depends on what gun you use but you take a ar15 and an ak out on the range that ak will be better up to 250-350 meters almost double the knockdown power as well, but past that 350 meters the .223 is going to be much more accurate, your 7.62 is going to be dropping anywhere from double to triple the amount in inches the .223 will

The knockdown power on a .308 is alot better but if your shooting a 5.56 and a .308 same distance the 5.56 will get there faster and more accurate, i.e your starting to see more m16, long range scopes in service

@Forbidenangel0 i wouldnt say it has a greater distance but it has a higher velocity and much more accurate, but almost all high powered sniper rifles are 7.62 or up for penetration power. Also the ak uses a different bullet than the .308 , it uses 7.62x39 little smaller than the .308

@MrRevoluzzer You may want to check your figures on the 9mm. I shoot and reload .45 and 9mm. A .45 has a penetrating depth of 27 in and the 9mm has 24 inches of penetrating depth. The 9mm is also great for creating hydrostatic shock also. I love my .45, but can't give up the 9mm.

@MaxKarch It's called a Class 3 Federal Firearms License. That will allow you to own automatic weapons as well as short barreled rifles. Along with other things, but those are the two main ones.

at 100 yards there is absolutely no difference in accuracy between an ar-15 shooting .22 or .223. i shot one two days ago and hit the same targets using the same sight picture at the same distances...its just 10x cheaper to shoot. ima get me one to plink around with and save the .223 for varmiting and home defense

@Forbidenangel0 nah the 7.62 much heavy grain than the 5.56 and obviously depends on what gun you use but you take a ar15 and an ak out on the range that ak will be better up to 250-350 meters almost double the knockdown power as well, but past that 350 meters the .223 is going to be much more accurate, your 7.62 is going to be dropping anywhere from double to triple the amount in inches the .223 will

@Forbidenangel0 Well the .308 isnt the same round as an AK but yes its the standard in the united states, outside its different. The knockdown power on a .308 is alot better but if your shooting a 5.56 and a .308 same distance the 5.56 will get there faster and more accurate, i.e your starting to see more m16, long range scopes in service

@Forbidenangel0 i wouldnt say it has a greater distance but it has a higher velocity and much more accurate, but almost all high powered sniper rifles are 7.62 or up for penetration power. Also the ak uses a different bullet than the .308 , it uses 7.62x39 little smaller than the .308
