  • Respond to this video... Solo is out of tune in the last part.

  • Ah yes, I remember this well. It was at "A Taste of Blue Ash" just outside of Cincinnati. I was there and I have my own video of this performance.

  • i usualy hate beatles imatations beacuse no 1 can do it like they did but i have to admit these dudes r pretty rockin

  • I think a much better band is Fab Four.

  • Great cover, awesome lead guitar and harmonies

  • GREAT JOB!!!

  • George looks more like Johnny Marr from the Smiths ; ) Great version though!

  • I saw 1964 back in the 80's, the drum set at that time used to say 1964 as the Beatles. Did they change it due to legal issue's?

  • @cathymaid-Yes, Apple Records took them to court. One of the sellements included, removing "The Beatles from the drum head.

  • Where is this? Roanoke Virginia (2003) by any chance?

  • @sthom3521 - This 1964 video taken in Cincinnati Ohio-1995.

  • In 2003 I went to concert. 1964 came to Chicago.

It was amazing! Almost real BEATLES. I cried.

NO.1 Beatles copy band 1964. Thank you very much!

  • great copy!!!

  • there good like the fab 4

  • I've been under the impression that the lead in the original version was played on a Rickenbacker 12 string.?

  • That riff is HARD to play!! Took me a while to get up to speed with it... like "George" here I play it solo, but it was recorded as a 2 guitar harmony part.

  • Excelente versãol. Todos os arranjos originais foram mantidos. Além do figurino. Emocionante. Pena que os Beatles nunca executaram esta música ao vivo em seus shows. Parabens à banda cover 1964 The Tribute. Marcelo Mignoni, from Brazil.

  • You Tube or Google a Beatles Tribute band called The Fab Four. . these guys are fantastic. . yet the Fab Four is so dead on that it is scary. .

  • This guy even looks like George. It's especially apparent when he reaches over to sing with "Paul".

  • 1964 the Tribute is still together. The Lead guitarist in this video is Jimmy Pou (Beatlemania). He was basically a substitute while Tom Work was on a leave of absence. Tom also plays this lead part the same way. Both guitarists have their George Harrison imitation guitar playing and mannerisms quite well perfected.

  • Great piece of guitar work by the lead guitarist. This video is from 1995? Do they still play together?

  • yes, they do

  • THis guy has a lot of guts George had two guitars this guys pulls it off with one! Not bad not bad at all.

  • @reamann109

actually paul played the guitar parts

  • Where did you hear that Paul played the guitar parts on And Your Bird Can Sing? I've never heard that before, but it kinda rings true. Please let me know!

  • COOL GUitar solo

  • My compliments to the guitarist this is a hard song to play and Lennon always thought this was a "throw away song".

  • If you see only one Beatles tribute band in your life-make sure it is this one.

  • wow, that guy looks like George! great copying of mannerisms, too...

  • I don't know if everyone really understands how difficult that lead guitar is. The guy does a GREAT job on this song.

  • Exactly, guernsch. He's playing two guitar parts on one guitar. This was never, ever meant to be played on one guitar.

    Great job.

  • @skrason Yes, you are so right! Paul originally played one part and George the other.

  • yes i do. ive learned to play it like this and it is very difficult!

  • @guernsch he is playing the modified version like the one in the beatles rockband guitar book

  • It's Tom Work and Terry Manfredi. They are really good guys.

  • nope it's jimmy and greg!

  • Jimmy Pou isnt in the band anymore, now it is Tom something idk his last name.... and theres a new ringo, terry madenilli, i think thats how you spell his last name lol...check out my videos of 1964..the tribute

  • You're right. I have a recent DVD of 1964 from MCC Recording. Will check out your 1964 vids. Thanks.

  • It's Tom Work and Terry Manfredi. They're super guys ta hang out with.

  • @greenday3847 Tom Work

  • i feel for "george" his performance wasnt the best but he had neck issues.

  • i agree

  • Im fell in love with Jimmy...met him and forgot for a minute he wasn't George.....it was awesome!

  • I miss Jimmy. He was the best!

  • It's interesting to see a lot of the Beatles tribute bands all covering this song, which was never a Beatles hit single but a favorite of Beatles songs. It seems like this is the "test song" for who can really do the Beatles.

  • I too have been trying to figure out how to play the guitar riff. Thanks for the close up shots on that part.

  • it's not tom it's jimmy but still awesome.

  • Thanks for the tip! They are very good from the video I saw. I think that my favorite all around tribute band is the Fab Four. They can really rock!

  • the guitar riff that Pou is doing is EXTREMELY TRICKY! You can hear him making mistakes all the way through the song, although I've heard him also do it flawlessly elsewhere. The really amazing part is George Harrison actually dubbed together two leads to come up with this riff BECAUSE it was so hard. My hat's off to Pou.

  • Saw these guys several years ago at an outdoor festival and as goofy as I thought it going to be , it was just that much fun! They really do a great job and of course the music...

  • Not dubbed. Actually played by Paul and George

    (from somewhere)

The signature dual-harmony electric lead guitar parts were played live (without overdubbing) by Harrison and McCartney. Lennon played the rhythm in the "D major" position with the capo on the 2nd fret (to account for the song being in the key of E). John used the 2nd fret capo several times ("Nowhere Man," "Julia," "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)" to name a few). (thanks, Barry Kesten - Bellmore, United States)

  • I'm going to see these guys live next week, I can't wait!

  • Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm sure someone will) but I seem to recall that back in the '80's when they first started, Gary (Paul), who is actually NOT left-handed learned to play bass left handed to add to the authenticity of their show. That's dedication!

  • That is correct. Check out their web site for more of their history. Google 1964 The Tribute.

  • @woodenmusic I used to work at a place where they played in the late 90s, and that is what "Paul" told me. I was amazed. And they sound GREAT!!

  • Yes, That's Jimmy. He's amazing. I hope to catch his solo show sometime.

  • Jimmy Pou left them a couple years ago to do a solo George tribute thing. 1964 is the best tribute band when it comes to the 1962-1966 era!

  • THANK YOU. This is one of my favorite Beatle songs. I've always wanted to see how the riff is played. Cool.

    THANK YOU.

  • Do you guys tune a half step lower? E flat ?Impressive job on the harmony guitar part arranged for one guitar. I'm trying to steal it if you don't mind.

  • I am not with the band, sorry. I just taped their concert. 1964 The Tribute has a web site I beleive, you can probably e-mail them with your good question.

  • Wow ...good job and an odd one off of Revolver, too. Never heard the Beatles do this one live. You guys are really good.

  • Glad you like this, thanks...

  • Perfect cinematography. Thank you for posting.

  • Thanks beatlepostle, glad you like it.

  • maybe he dont loo exactly like paul because paul is good looking but wat i mean is, he stands and play like paul and hes left handed too nwei great band

  • Well said devilking247. I knew what you mean't, just some jackasses prefer to squabble & jerk around because they have nothing better to do, or are intelligent enuff to create something, other than just bitch all the time.

  • Pretty damn good!!!!

  • Wow. Glad to see that 1964 has such great fans!!! Peace and Love to You All!

    Al

  • Great job!!

  • 1964thetribute dot com

  • whats the name of the band? they look exactly like beatles especially paul! hes lefthanded too..great band

  • They're "1964 The Tribute". They play all over the U.S., in England & Germany. They have a web site with their schedule. Google their name to find it. If they play in your area, check out one of their concerts.

  • The Tribute ROCKS! Great presentation! And I say that as a life long Beatles fan of 43 years!

  • By the way, this is Jimmy Pou as George. Tom had been on his break from the road by this concert.

  • Great Video!!! EXCELLENT
