Has the disc ever worked on your system?

If it has, it may be scratched or need a cleaning, if not, Nintendo revised the Gamecube half way through production so that they're not compatible, so you'll need to buy the V2 version of the freeloader.

Oh yeah, it's essentially the same trick, a lot of disc based consoles only check for security on the boot up part and people take advantage of the short lul before it actually starts reading the disc.
