@bandpractice from a galactic merger, no. but it has been provin(at least in other galaxies) that over time planets do move closer to their sun in a spiral like fashion because of gravity. but at a very slow rate, and considering our distance from the sun it wont hapen anytime soon, in fact its more likely that we'll wipe out all life ourselves before that happens

Wow, I didn't know that these guys had access to a portable light particle image and audio manipulator,(the gun that the flunky had), that kind of tech is still centuries off! What's more, is that they managed to calibrate the transmission sequence to last for at least a minute or two on the background. Although I can still see how the manipulator is deficient in self sustainment; it can only project onto green screen for a time. Still, pretty astonishing for them.

Sadly, too many actual programs hire celebrities & tout them as experts, when they're simply enthusiasts. The other extremeis that they'll only listen to those w/ letters after their names. In either scenario, the presenters, rather than the science, is what lends the program any authority; often the science is dubious, relying heavily on "We think..." and "this artist's rendition of..." rather than anything verifiable. Of course, they all came for Felicia Day, not the science! :)
