I was in my car with a retired black man who is a dear friend of mine and he had just burried his wife. this song came on the radio on a Sunday afternoon and he started singing with the radio. I still remember the commercials for the album. My grandma brought the record.
I even remember there was one album talking about a little Fice Dog and how he barked and barked jumping on the gate at a larger dog until one day the gate was open... She brought that one also. I remember my grandma played this. This song brings back memories, wonderful memories

OMG!! I love this song! especially the sound of the piano, It sounds like one of those old pianos that just sits in the fellowship hall for years, and all of a sudden you pull it out to play on! But its real!!

This was my grandmother's favorite song. She passed away in 1985. It was sung at her funeral. Rest in peace grandma. Love you fand miss you forever.

I love this song. It's very moving and powerful, my grandmother used to play this song as well as the album. She passed away in November 25 of 2008 and I always remembered this song i listen almost everyday thanks 4 posting it. God Bless.

Back in the 80's I used to play this song every day. Rev. F.C.Barnes and the Red Bud Choir were hot as fire crackers. I could sing this all day. Bless whoever posted this

My gramomma had this whole album. Not cd ALBUM lp if u will! Every sunday she played it and that was over 20 years ago now. These words fill me with emotion as the words say "im comin UP on the ROUGH side". It gets hard to hold on but stay up ppl we will survive by God's grace. Hallelujah!
