Watching these 2012 shows, you notice you never see a respectable, knowledgeable scientist or astronomer. These are either lunatics or people that see a chance to cash in on the "consciously challenged" population that unfortunately seems to be growing. Get a grip people, if this happens every 26,000 yrs, the earth is 4.5 billion yrs old, it happened over 170,000 times, the earth is fine, the bad news is you WILL have to finish paying off your house.
