Ok...the comment about freezing cakes, well that was not true. I decorate cakes all the time, and I do not freeze my cakes. So don't call me a liar...cake is fresher in flavor when you don't freeze them.
wow. there must be a lot of liars out there. first semester pastry students know that you don't frost a frozen cake. the cake expands as it thaws and the frosting cracks. the cake needs to be thawed before frosting.
Excellent video - two questions I have is, would you do the whole thing with cake completely frozen?? Could you do the same with fondant icing and a frozen cake? Last question is this, would follow exactly the same formula for a round cake i.e. would you apply the frosting to the side of the cake with a piping bag like you did here or would you just apply using a spatula?
How do you get into this line of work? Do you have to go to a culinary/ pastry school college? Theres no culinary school around here, but theres a tech. school that has pastry/baking arts. Would that work or is more education needed? Any help would be great thanks.
This is great! I'm glad you explained the freezing part because I didn't know that. I'm trying to learn as many "tricks of the trade" as possible. Thanks so much!
This is a great video! Thank you!
