  • Companies like Nike simply exploit labour conditions in poor countries. Nike executives realize that if they don't take advantage of low cost labour, the competition will. These nations are kept poor because of currency exchange rates that are presently controled by the wealthy nations: USA, The EU, Japan, etc...

To paraphrase Noam Chomsky: Governments are power centers that represent the powerful that keep them in power. Look at any elected party presently in power, who funded them?

  • A sweatshop job ovseaesa, is like working a fast food job in america...sad but true (but worse)

  • the illuminati arent just abusing these people but ALL people, to 1 degree or another in ALL countrys. Taxes are servitude also. these people arent the only ones living with legal toxins.

We you & I live with chemclouds of varied components none good. ASPARTAME in foods drinks & medicines lol ! Flouride

2nd toxic to mercury ! and all other LEGAL poisons. We have hospitals with official contamination , ,,,,,,, money talks &......bullshit walks sadly

  • ITS THE CEO's JOB TO DO WHATS BEST TO MINIMIZE COSTS IF ITS HIRING CHEAP HUMAN LABOUR THEN THATS WHAT THEY WILL DO. PLUS EVERYONE COMMENTING HERE ISN'T FIGHTING THIS THEY ARE SIMPLY STATING THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND SAYING THATS HORRIBLE. HOW ABOUT YOU GET UP AND DO SOMETIHNG FOR THESE PEOPLE IF YOU THINK ITS SO HORRIBLE. OTHERWISE YOUR KIDS FAIL

  • uhm FUCK YOU! All you fuckers who say stop sweatshops don't ask the people who work there what they think. How else will they make money? You should thank the companies providing these jobs to those people. You are actually hurting the people your trying to help. Those "low" wages are low to YOU. Not them! THINK!

  • @ronpaul101789 It is low, if factory were required to pay more money to adults children would not have to work... like in america

    decenant of immigrants

  • @ronpaul101789 yeah but the greedy nike people who have more than enough money under pay them so they have more money in their pockets.

  • see what nike wal-mart adidas and other name-brands do to other people for a low price but then wants to sell their clothes and shoes for like 100$ bucks

  • I'm afraid you are wasting your breath. Just read some of the comments here. There are some people who are so blind and so willfully stupid that they will never know or care about the issue.

(And unfortunately, it has to be said: the music is unlistenable)

  • The problem you have is these selfish parents bringing children into the world when they have NO MONEY..HELLO..USE CONTRACEPTION !!!!! You need to STERILIZE the adults..Help stop poverty...Had many of the adults done this..would you be viewing this video??

  • It not just because the parents are selfish, they need the children to go to work and earn money to help support the family, it sounds harsh but people in third world countries are starving, they will earn more money with large families.

  • GTFO!!!

  • One major problem is how hard people earning minimum wage or close to are struggling in this country. It's a circular argument. Think of the cliche of the college student living off instant noddles and telling them to eat healthy (but they can't afford good food). The economy is totally out of wack in the US.

  • I'm not sure how running a sewing machine is considered a Sweat Shop !!

I guess you must have never done any work in your life, Sewing is now Slave Labor ??

    P.S. Terrible Music

  • Running a sewing machine is not slave labour. It is the conditions that the people work in to make clothes for us.

  • the reason why they choose sweatshops is because:

    1. they have relativly high pay unlike prostitution, or turning towards crime

    2. better working conditions compared to their other job oportunities.

    3. some sweatshops even offer basic aid, like bandaids, which may not seem like much, but it is in ther country

    4. these people build dreams, and beleive they can do more than just work at sweatshops, with their new skills, they even dream about start their own buisness.

  • Thanks for your logical answer. I am not being sarcastic.

  • BOO HOO

  • I agree

  • thats true but more developed contries could give them more money so they can get a better education

  • truth is that sweatshops do not benefit their economy in that great of a way, the pay is better than almost all other job oportunities. these countries may get out of poverty, but it wont be anytime soon, it will either be a change in their political leaders, or more companies investing more money in their country due to sweatshops. the truth is that sweatshops do not disadvantage their country in anyway, they are voluntary positions, sweatshops only help. it would only be worse without them.

  • @POTCIsTheBest India get billions in development aid from the US and UK alone!. The problem is not more money. The problem is it always seems to go to thr wrong people. The owners get benefits but the benefits never go to the actual workers. It just means the bosses can take a bigger profit and compete at an even greater advantage with the countries they export too. More money is not the answer. India has healthier economy than the US or the UK. But the money all stays with the same people.

  • This is why it pays to get a good education -- by the way, the music is nice, but no one forced these people to get a job doing this.

  • they have a choice of work there , or let their children starve to death. they have no choice and they only just get enough money for basic food.

  • wow, all of you are so closed minded, these people have a choice to work here, they get a genouros amount of money in their country. woman try to find jobs like these, but they are not always availible. sweat shops help improve their economy. what the hell do you think their other job oportunities are? they dont have education, or dont have a sense of ethics, woman would have to go into prostitution, men and kids would turn towards crime.

  • if you really want to help these countries, buy more from sweatshop, factories will see that the demand has gone up, than invest more in their factories. other companies will see that competition is increaseing, and wages will increase due to this.

  • If we buy more clothes from sweatshops then people who run the shops will think it is ok for people to work in these conditions. I understand that this work is better than prostitution or turning towards crime but every human being deserves good working conditions and it is up to governments to help these people.
