Omg I really miss this game. :'( Sucks they stopped making GameCubes. My PC can't run this game that great because it slows and lags too much to play. I've got that Acer laptop with Vista and it's got 1.73GHz....I tried to the latest version of Dolphin but still no luck. They're supposed to be making another Dolphin GameCube emulator so I'm kinda hoping the game will run a little better with that. I'd still play it if it only jumped a little, I can ignore the jumping if it's just here and there.

Hey I run an ATI card on my PC its a Radeon 3870. I have had some problems with the OPEN GL graphics plugin but in the new 1.0 version of Dolphin I change it over Direct3d. Did your version have the direct 3d plugin on or the Open GL pluggin on? Also is this windows footage?

@Halaster maybe you need to change some of the plugin settings. I don't really use the emulator these days and I'm not sure what has been updated but with a PC like that you should have much better fps.

@PuuberZ Thanks for the reply, figured out the problem last night. apparently running at any resolution other than the default 640x480 caused huge performance hits.

Found that even a single step up drops it from 60fps to like 6fps.

Running at 640x480 with 16xAA and 16xAF though works and looks fantastic. :D

Heya, figured out the issue. It was due to using the OpenGL plugin instead of the DirectX plugin. I had completely missed that DirectX was an option.

Switching to the DirectX plugin allowed the game to run at 1080p with 16xAA flawlessly. Not only does it run better but a lot of graphical issues I did not even notice were there are now fixed. The OpenGL plugin is garbage compared to the DirectX plugin from what I am seeing, at least on my system.

Well there is a speed up when the game is recorded with Fraps or similar recording software. It's just the way those programs work.

I just wouldn't expect this type of gameplay with a CPU that only is clocked @2.5Ghz.

But in the flip is that for 3/4 years it was the opposite, with Athlon64/Opterons being faster than P4/Xeon. the cpu! The best for dolphin is a cpu with 2 cores (dual core) and the higher its clocked ( clock = for example 3ghz) the more fps you get. also a 64 bit os is faster.

what cpu do you have? if you have only one core then 2,13 ghz is not enough.
