  • this is on worlds scariest landings now!!! :P

  • I like how the flames enlarged when the rim went over the painted lines.

  • MrVicest it would be worse landing a plane without any gear. If the a320 landed without a landing gear. Smoke would fill in the cockpit because of the friction.

  • There must have been a bang when the nose gear hit the ground and blew up.

  • The pilot should not have landed with faulty landing gear. He should have just stayed up there. Idiot.

  • We have Clearance Clarence. Roger, Roger........what's our vector, Victor?

  • Tht plane look fake

  • good job airbus

  • Stephanosh are you real ? I know thats the whole point of the video !! But I wonder what caused the wheels to turn 90 degrees ? They do not rotate to go inside the plane on take off.

  • Why are the wheels at 90 degrees to the plane ?

  • @theonlysminor thats the whole point of this plane having a faulty landing gear

  • i remember watching this on news as it was happening. the plane was circling for a long time burning off fuel. what the hell do they tell the passengers so they don't end up freaking out and going nuts inside the cabin?? "we might crash and all die in a huge fireball, but just stay calm...no big deal"

  • IMAGINE HOW FUCKING COCKY those pilots DESERVE to be after pulling that off..."Stewardess, pour me a scotch and then suck my big hairy balls."

  • @airplanegod and @0110012 both you fucking dickheads STFU

  • incredible!!

  • i took this same exact plane home on a flight from houston (KHOU) to new york (KJFK) it was named "canyon blue" and i figured it was somehow familiar but i never realized until i watched this video again

  • Aweesome! Drunk Tank

  • lol the guy has no emotion u would figure he would say nice fucking JOB! HE DID IT but no he just says good job.

  • Drunktank.

  • DRUNK TANK

  • drunk tank

  • DRUNK TANK

  • And when they landed, a gay man popped the slide and took two beers...

  • DRUNKTANK!!!

  • Wow. That was awesome.

  • Drunk Tank.

  • @Facemeltx i agree drunk tank ftw

  • drunk tank

  • Drunk Tank.

  • our main concern in jetblue is safety!!!! good job pilot

  • this pilot is an ace

  • this guy is a freakn machine. no dought! ;D

btw im gonna fs9 now .. bye

  • wow! that looked as smooth as cutting butter with a hot knife .......on a summer day....... i wud like to know how the pilot felt!!

  • Dumbass, They do that to slow the plane... Captian sully was not faced with that.... You have no idea about flying

  • Dude... then why did you call th captian an idiot and not a good as that sully? hmmm Schooled yourserlf! and it did slow the play, watch the fox report

  • Yah, I know, Sorry Cheers

  • i found your comment funny, but mostly because other people got mad at it

  • what?

  • any airline pilot could do that. this is what they practice for. That was probably the only exciting day that pilot has ever had flying. that's crazy though to use minimal brakes and pulling back. it's airbus though that's a stupid joystick!

  • the more brake the more weight on the front landing gear! so he was trying to keep the front gear from collasping

  • Welcome to SJO - Costa Rica.

  • very skillful pilot just to land anything as large as that in the firstplace even without a faulty landing gear

  • Watched this live. The pilot's an absolute stud.

  • These pilots are heroes

  • Forever and ever...

  • no they are not. they are doing their job.

  • ohh man

  • no front gear at the end

  • the wheel and tire totaly disintegrated i bet those toilets wer busy for a long time

  • dude, i was on the plane and let me tell you that after we landed there was a crazy smell in the cabin- almost like a wet dog thing...people must secrete some chemical when high stress is involved cause that plane stank- and yes, alot of people used the toilet lol

  • he didnt deploy his spoilers...

  • Keeping as much weight as possible off those wheels

  • oh btw this happened at about 4 o'clock

  • i was there when that happened that is at LAX airport i will never forget that day the whole town was there watching from a hillside that thing went on for a couple hours circling above before landing. btw i used to live in el segundo the town right next to LAX

  • i think by the speed of the plane.. have the front gear to collapse ....

  • Credit to those Pilots for bringing her down safely

  • pilots are pros!

  • Jet Blue always has problems.

  • What are you talking about. JetBlue has excellent service and prices.

  • @WW2KIDD You have problems, and so does your mom

  • @airplanegod

Is this all you do? You look through pages of comments on youtube just so you can reply to one that you don't like? You must really no life. Here's a thought, get out of your mom's basement, land a decent ,job, get laid, then you can comeback to youtube. Because honestly, looking back on pages of comments just so you can reply to them isn't a wise career path. Who knows, maybe it is for the person for your intellectual level. IQ of 33 I'm Guessing?

    - WW2KIDD, new account.

  • @0110012 Just fuck you, jetblue is a great airline

  • @airplanegod

As I recall, I'm entitled to free speech. I'm entitled to say what I want. I'm entitled to opinions. And my opinion is, jet blue isn't that great of an airline. If you don't like it, does it really matter? But hey, its your opinion on my opinion. Its not an opinion that I agree with, but at least I'm not going off on someone for it. And I don't need to know things about planes to have opinions on airlines. Thats like needing a musical education to have an opinion on music.

  • @0110012 actually it would be more like needing to know the intricacies of a violin in order to have an opinion on music.

  • @0110012 And by the way, no I don't, I just hate with a passion when people go off on jetblue

  • How old are you?, this happened a few years ago , Jetblue has live directv so the passengers could see the landing from their seats. scary shit.

  • can you imagine...

"haha look at those suckers on that plane... wait... SON OF A BITCH!!!"

  • dude stfu. u apperantly dont know shit

  • is it a fake ? where are the shaddows from the aeroplane?

  • Its obvious that the sun isnt directly above the god damn airplane, which is why you arent seeing a shadow below it. If you look towards the end of the video, you can clearly see the shadow of the aircraft. This was posted all over the news on September 21st 2005. SNL did a parody of the situation to boot.

  • aaa question why the didn't use the thrust reverser?

  • If they did, there would be more pressure on the nose landing gear so it could snap off.

  • The pilots wanted the nose in the air for as long as possible in order to minimize damage. Using the reverse thrusters could of exacerbated the situation

  • A32-210 tHE bEST! AND ALL THE OTHERS!

  • An AMZING PILOT!!! He knew to slow down, and brake with the back gears, when he got to about 30 knots per hour, he put down the front gear. Great.

  • That was just so cool how great he landed it!

Hats off to the pilot! He knows his stuff :]

  • i am surprised the landing gear lasted as long as it did i thought the wheels and gear would desintegrate at those speeds

  • awesome pilot skills!

  • Why is everyone saying Boeing is a lot worse? They're state of the art aircrafts, they've been around since the 50s. Airbus isn't even that old, but their both good in their own way. I can't wait till they release the B787's.

  • phobal if the steering angel is pushed beyond maximun the flight is delayed or ship changed because the entire nose gear assembly has to be inspected for damage

  • that was an amazing job by those pilots... i could not imagine being inside there

  • jup I think thats boeng

  • It's an Airbus

  • 7 incidents of the A320 with a sideways nose gear

  • Once in Brazil a 707 nose fell off (believe it or not), so foam was put in the middle of the runway and the pilot landed on his mains and eased the nose in the foam... And THAT was a great landing...

  • Someone could explain too me how the gear take that position?

  • The nose gear pivots so that the tires lay flat inside the fuselage when the whole truck is retracted. The wheel takes up less space this way.

  • during pushback, a bar is connected from the pushback tractor to the nose gear. to turn the aircraft into the right position. this is completely in the power of the person driving the tractor. you can only go so far (hence the 'maximum steering angle'). someone pushing back exceeded the maximum steering angle; they pushed the nose gear with the bar connected beyond the maximum steering angle. that's my guess

  • i think the actual cause of this one was a faulty sensor caused by moisture on a cannon plug. Boeing birds nose gears all have cam locks, so the gear is mechanically forced straight when extended, and 90 degrees retracted, the airbus gear is electric, so if it goes out, there's no back up system

  • excellent landing, espeacialy with a faulty nose gear.

  • it ia an airbus not a boeing

  • if it was a boeing, it certainly could be much worse

  • hahahaha the airbus apologist. at least boeing knows how to measure avionics wires.

  • if it had been boeing it wouldnt have happend in the first place

  • jeeze!

  • Yes.

  • give that pilot a raise

  • Yeah!! This guy just got to have a raise!

  • yer lol

  • Yeah! He kept the camera steady the whole time!!! =P

  • I mean the pilot. But the camera is good too.

  • I know, both very good!

  • The blog I mentioned in my last post can be found at: runway-accelerant(dot)spaces(dot)live(dot)com/?_c11_BlogPart_BlogPart=blogview&_c=BlogPart&partqs=amonth%3d9%26ayear%3d2005. (Cut, paste in browser, exchange real periods for the (dot)s, & view --I think ...)

  • I too saw the paint problem on live TV that day! I emailed a few news shows--NO RESPONSE! Then, as best I know how, I tried to set up a blog. That is still online but it NEVER got any comments! IT IS SCARY TO SEE AN ALMOST INERT SOURCE OF HEAT ACCELERATED SO LARGE & SUDDENLY NEAR ALL THAT JET FUEL!

  • good eyes on the paint. You are right it does burn when it hits the paint

  • airbus suck, french rubbish, boeing rule

  • look at how many boeing aircraft has crash recently, the 737 in Brazil, and the same one in indonesia. yeah yeah boeing rules ...at crashing riight

  • The boeing crashed in brazil after being in a mid-air collision.

  • and so i wonder how EMBRAER got only a winglet lost...

if airbus is rubbish, boeing is 2X rubbish...

  • interesting how many airlines are selling their 340s/330s and getting 777s instead. and very interesting how many carriers are still utilizing 737s. and it's really interesting how ups and fedex cancelled their orders for the 380 because of european efficiency at its finest.

  • saw this live, notice how the sparks get really big every time they go over the painted lines on the run way. wonder if theres a flamable chem. in the paint mix.

  • good eyes dude

  • maybe something in the paint that makes it reflect at night could be flammable

  • I think it could be one of two things, either A)maybe some sort of phosphorous-based chemical to brighten the white up? or B)glass beads mixed in with the paint hitting the metal in the landing gear and causing extra friction on top of that which is found on regular concrete. (all guesses, mind you)

  • lol, thats always funny when we ssee kids like you try to make explanations on things like that.. when we read you, we are happy that specialists of aeronautics are not randomly hired lol

  • lol!

  • good ovbservation must be something like that which must be rothought because the flame is probably the greatest hazzard during such a landing

  • very nice job by those pilots im going to attend flight school in about 3 years

  • WOW - that pilot deserves a medal - a real hero

  • dude its hats off not hands off smartone

  • i remember thois

  • haha I lived down the street and herd the noise it made when it landed.

  • those pilots were amazing. hands off to them!

i watched this on live TV too

  • u guys know the passangers were watching the whole thing on TV. They have tv's on the bak of the seats on jet blue

  • good job.. kept the nose up as long as possible. very smart pilots...

    all the best

  • on the centerline. they train for this stuff.

  • that plane did not reverse thrust!that was kinda awsome

  • He probley went to the bar afterwards!!!

  • nice job!

  • The pilots were miracle workers.

  • That pilot is a stud.

  • how did the wheel get turned completly sideways?

  • after take off the landing gear will rotate 90 degree to fit into the well - unfortunately the landing gear got stuck and couldn't retract back into the wheel well compartment

  • Not true. The landing gear doesn't rotate, it should center automatically when extended. This was a mechanical fault on nose landing gear.

  • i saw that live on the news...and watching this video reminds me of wat a great job the pilots did...if only we had smart folks like them around more lol

  • that airplane did a wheelie for like 30 seconds

  • Its called aerodynamic breaking.

Slows the plane down faster, because the landing gear would have ripped off if he immediately put it down when he touched down at those speeds.
