  • this man is a legand himself and ronnie up there waiting for us all

  • I could listen to this over and over again. I am going to learn how to sing this song.

  • pity how bands like Pouges and High Kings have thousands and millions of views.... I guess Luke will remain a hidden musical gem for the devoted! Long Live Luke Kelly!

  • @VIKIRERUG How is that a pity that the Pogues are popular? I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere! They're all good.

  • @bigmarty11288 well sorry the Pogues can't hold a torch to good ol Luke Kelly. Granted I do rather enjoy some of the The Pogues. I was mostly noting that his talent is less well known, and it is a shame as it shadows the talent of other singers of Irish Folk, i.e. Pogues + High Kings ect...

  • Luke Kelly Lives!

  • God this is unbelievably good

  • Too soon gone. Excellent rendition.

  • About 1:18 - 1:21 you can really hear him grinning as he's singing :)

  • its Luke alright - his accent is broader in this one than other recordings

  • I saw them in Galway back in time when i was a kid. Still love the dubliners, even though kelly's dead. rest in peace, fella

  • jesus, what a beautiful singer. I live a few doors up from his family home and see his older brother every day. pure Dublin accent. makes me proud!!!

  • lucky you i live in oregon

  • the best thing about this version is the pure raw dublin in lukes accent, i am kildare meself but love any accent when it pure to its county.

  • i fuckin love this tune :-D

  • Thank you sooooo sooooooooooooooo much kelly o'neill :)

  • This is clearly luke kelly!!!

  • No way. No one else can sing this song with as few breaths as Luke.

  • I don't know what is wrong with your ears, but if you have someone you should hear that this is obviously Luke Kelly.

If not it's maybe his twin which no one knows :O

  • kellyoneill, I'd like to buy you a Guinness for putting this stuff on youtube...but in America, I'm a year underage. Turn 21 next January. :-(

  • Fantastic

  • I doo not usually listen too dies kind of music but who couldnt fell in love with dies kind of singing I am starting too listen often and often too dies music

  • @2MrLuka8 You really need to improve your english.

  • @mathiasrodland Sorry to say but isn't English capitalised?

But ye', I agree, his English sucks!

  • dies means this ?

the real meaning of "dies" is still that someone is going to death.. My english is worst too, but this is of course something very basic..

If I write your sentence in the way I think it's right it would be written like that :

I usually don't listen to this kind of music but who wouldn't fell in love with this way of singing? I am starting to listen more and more to this music.

I'm not sure if there's everything right which I wrote (tense) but maybe more than your version..

  • such a beautiful version.. so clear and pure.. hon ballinasloe and the brogs
