This really isnt a big deal unless you care for completely black backrounds, most sensible people have backrounds with some detail. its really just an issue all led backlit screens have, even with apple products ive seen this, its not a big deal, if your upset, why dont you try and build one?
@LtColQwerty It is a big deal if your trying to watch a movie, and said movie has a dark background and 2 or 3" of the corner of your tablet is so bright you can't see what's going on....
I'm glad you enjoy sloppy quality and just follow the lemmings off the cliff..
@bossxii yea i agree with you on that, i just have one and haven't had any problems, i found out in last quarter they mass produced them leading to lots of quality control issues. so i guess its a matter of getting a lemon or not, now they are all fine.
I have that issue too however its barely noticeable..and I'm pretty sure almost all screens have that issue when you have a black background. Maybe you just got a defective one..ohwell I love my transformer!
I just got my second one and light bleed and if you grab it with both hands and just move hands in opposite direction omg the light bleed is everywhere check yours by doing this and do it on a dark background it's unreal how bad it is just got my second one yesterday and it's going back again they need to fix this problem i'm sick of getting one and returning and the keyborad dock I had problems with too battery drain when not in use keyboard lagg just problems though I love the Asus Fix it Plz
@laysea65 Thanks for the tip. I went through two from online vendors before putting the brakes on. I know with any LCD that is LED backlit there is gong to be some light bleed simply due to how these things are assembled. It will also vary in how bad it is, mostly depending how well the adhesive between the LCD panel and the digitizer and front glass gets seated. I'm far enough along now I"m holding out for a Tegra 3 device and the next gen.
@excelx213 Good to hear, I hope they have the issue resolved. I still can't find one in stores. I picked up a Samsung 10.1 tablet and messing with it but probably going to return it. So many new tablets coming out, lots of stuff to mess with.
I have a little bit on the bottom of my Transformer, where the home, back, and view apps button. Its quite small. Should I bother with sending it back? Yours is wicked bad!
@xTRICKYxx Ya I sent mine back and am waiting now to find one locally so I can check it out, or at least have the option to return/swap one out. I sent mine off to get checked out, but was told it was "acceptable"... Thankfully I could still return it. I love my TF, but yes the light bleed I had was beyond what I would ever expect to be "acceptable". I realize LCD panels are going to have light bleed, but mine was to much for me. As far as your own issues, it's personal preference really.
@xTRICKYxx Unfortunately they did not... I have a B70 with light bleed as well. Not as bad as in this vid tho. After reading forums all night it seems like it is a hit or miss with this or any ips device. I'm gonna take mine back to best buy and see if they won't let me open another one in the store and take the better of the two (the new one or my current one). If not i'll probably return and wait for a Kal-El (quad-core) tablet :)
Hey Boss. I am looking to get the TF but from best buy so I can see it before I buy it and make sure it doesn't bleed. Did the bleeding show when you first bought it or over time? If they don't replace it what will you do? Isn't there a way you can call Asus or are they just going to ignore the issue?
@slientdb Unfortunately after sending mine in they didn't replace it. stating it was "acceptable" for the technology used. I sent it back to the seller on Amazon. Won't buy another until I can test it in a store.
@silverghozt Ya, mine is bad enough to show up watching a movie with a nighttime/dark scene. I shipped mine off this week. They said allow 2 to 3 weeks to get it back, bah!
@bossxii i just gave up. sending back to amazon for the refund. i'm not taking another chance on this. i will check out the thrive next. this is the kind of issue that is just unacceptable and should be caught at the quality control stage! good luck with the replacement.
thx for your videos. I think in really low light situation I wouldn't view at high brightness. That, of course should reduce the light bleed issue. i do not own one yet but it is shipped and I do not know if the system has a auto brightness control.
hi I've been enjoying your videos on the transformer. any chance you could demonstrate ms word, excel and perhaps paint docs being opened and edited by the transformer? and then perhaps show your pc opening the edited docs after that? cheers
I am happy to say the Keyboard Dock issues have been 100% fixed by Asus. They issued a Firmware update just 2 days after I personally had issues and many people on forums such as XDA developers were reporting the issue. Very impressed with Asus' customer service.

Please make more transformer videos! I was wondering if you could connect a USB drive DVD player? If so would that work well?

Maybe you should have used "Dark Knight" as a movie sample to show the light bleed.
