  • how did you get the human skin color?

  • I used 80% projection painting from a human face image(using Zproject brush), and 20% was manual painting.

this was done in Zbrush3.5 so i had to use imageplaneX as a subtool.

If I was you I would use Spotlight, which is available on ZBrush4. which is so much easier proccess,

tutorials can be found on pixologic webpage.

  • @kamehameha23mj

spotlight wasn't available on earlier Zbrush? omg i feel bad for you.. but ok i'll do it..

the skin color is marvellous good job!

ok erhm, i tried out the spotlight and it doesnt seem to work., i go in Light - then i press spotlight and nothin happens when i mess around. could it be because i have another material on the character?

  • @Cxeri93 Hey man. when I say spotlight, i dont mean 'a light source' in zbrush. so dont press on the 'Light' tab.

instead, get hold of an image of a face you want to use>go to texture tab and import it>then click the button 'add to spotlight'. did you go to pixologic website > Zclassroom > Spotlight? getting use to spotlight is tricky at first. so i recomend looking through the video they got.

they explain it way better than me writting in in letters.

  • @kamehameha23mj

yeh lol, your words look complicated but i think i understand. but i must understand more, i will watch the videos.

but thanks buddy for helping me out, i appreciate it very much! ;)

Have you started with Zbrush4? or are you on earlier version?

  • @Cxeri93 i suck at teaching.lol sorry

yea watch the video on zbrush website, or watch some good tutorials on youtube.

but yea, now im using Zbrush4 since few month ago.

but i started when they released Zbrush3.

back then they didnt have much features so it was very easy to learn. but now they got so many new features in Zbrush4, i bet it will be harder for new ppl to master all features.

  • @kamehameha23mj

so should i first do Zbrush 3 before starting Zbrish4, ? cos i am a true beginner at zbrush4. my 3rd sculpt is a masterpiece though. lol i shouldnt brag, but it's cool.

  • @Cxeri93

Nah just start from zbrush4. lol sorry if i confused you.

i was just saying that zbrush4 has so many more new features compared to zbrush3 back when i started. (zb4 is way better than zb3)

yea it would be kool to see your sculpt my friend.

  • @kamehameha23mj

ahh ok, then i shall continue. and i think your sculpt would be AMAZING if you did some animations on it.

  • @Cxeri93

yea i know, id love to animate it, but i suck at animation lol

my plan is to get hold of the program called 'image metrics' one day and play around with it.

i hope its easy to use. it looks really cool.

  • @kamehameha23mj

haha indeed, i am so gonna learn animation and then make a "Animation Reel 2011" and send it to companies. but i gotta practice first
