I first heard this in the 1940s when I was in and out of air-raid shelters and played music like this on an HMV wind-up gramophone. I heard it again tonight in the film "Me and Orson Welles" which has lots of great music. Thanks to You Tube no winding up necessary and no air-raid shelters. Isn't life sweet when you have great music?
@voltaman33 - I assume you mean the recorded version of this song with vocals by Mae Questel, who was one of the voices of Betty Boop. I can't recall ever seeing a Betty Boop cartoon where she sang this. If it exists I'd love to see it!
@MRDOOWOP1 - I've made 111 playlists for every year since 1900 - come have a listen like you've stepped back in time! Over 260 more lists honor artists like Tommy Dorsey & lots play for up to 2 hours!
why cant they make music like this anymore, this is america, frank sinatra-john wayne-dean martin- robert mitchem- lee marvin. the america i miss, happy birthday mike savage. 3-31-42.
@peteboy1113 They do make music just like this. If you want this style, there's lots of swing and big bands around. If you want original modern music there's lots of that too. What is it that you think we don't have now that we had then?
