I live in Los Angeles and we visit Las Vegas three or four times a year. (It's a 3.5- 4.0 hour drive depending on how fast you go). I can go well over 100 miles per hour on the I-15 in the middle of the Mojave Desert.

Quite right !!! What's changed still ripped of on the petrol front and the parking front, speed limit based on a ford anglia's brakes of around 43 years ago, what a joke !
Oh My God This limit was placed in 1965!!!! and is still running solid. I think 90mph would be perfect. Not too fast and yet not slow either. 70's boring. You can feel a difference in 90
