  • He is pure TALENT! <3 <3 so excited for this album to hit the stores!

  • Uh I'll take Jimi for Double Jeopardy Alex

  • @dillweed44 yeah which is why he can play guitar like SRV and smashes all the hottest chicks in Hollywood. Total nob jockey.

  • That picture at 2:42 makes him seem like the biggest pretencious nob-jockey ever (oh wait, he is the biggest nob-jockey ever!)

  • @dillweed44 Sorry...didn't read your lame comment...I was too busy ogling the AWESOME body on John Mayer....did you say something noteworthy??

  • @TheDystera - Yes clearly I did say something noteworthy otherwise you wouldn't have bothered replying.

  • @dillweed44 It's called sarcasm honey, look it up in the dictionary instead of wasting time hating on YouTube :)

  • @dillweed44 says that because John has no shirt on and @dillweed44 is jealous that John looks like that with his shirt off and @dilweed44 does not.

  • @FlashMau5 - Blue Stilton's distinctive blue veins are created by piercing the crust of the cheese with stainless steel needles, allowing air into the core. The manufacturing and ripening process takes approximately nine to twelve weeks.

  • The only reason I clicked on the video was because I saw he had no shirt... and this is coming from a straight dude

  • @james80196 probably not that straight...

  • @james80196 That was my 'M.O..

  • Admit it .... You REALLY wanted to see him shirtless ;)

  • first picture makes him look a bit like James Franco, both legends.

  • ...yawn... :-O good try though....im back to stuff like this (watch?v=lzTCdXu0xdY&feature=related)... see you in a couple of lifetimes...peace and love...

  • In all fairness all RocknRoll music from the sixties until end of seventies was written entirely by "whackedout" drug lovers. Lets face it: Drugs sound veery good! Unfortunately the ruling elite gave four or five types of the endless palette of available drugs an evil reputation so their illegality would not be questioned. I would suggest that even today way over half of humanity is enjoying the services of drugs. Of course we have to drop the double standard and count all legal drugs as well.

  • @banazoo00 I agree, I love Hendrix, but in fairness, he was somewhat of a whacked out drug abuser.

  • Ya Mayer is very good. Just seems like a bit of a wanker.. In any case Derek Trucks (his contemporary) blows him right out the door, when it come to soul and genuine feeling.

  • Candy ass did a good job of fucking that song up.

  • @oldfert Yeah, OK. Put up your cover...Anyone can hate on talent but can YOU play even remotely as good as JM?

  • I feel happy

  • Please...stop covering Hendrix, the fans really don't like some pretty boy fag whose fanbase is college girls covering (and RUINING) hendrix songs.

    Please just stop.

  • @SoundboyEric eric clapton and bb king have both said that john mayer is one of the best blues musicians they have played on stage with. If he can get two of the greats to approve of him, you should be able to too.

  • @sandpadres maybe they were think more of their bank account, when they said that? Just a wild guess...:-S

  • @SoundboyEric Fucking THIS!!!!!

  • @SoundboyEric ok this is a damn good cover guitar solo is freakin sweet. so if ya gonna hate on vids go somewhere else. maybe try haterztube . c o m

  • @SoundboyEric you're such a cool guy for liking hendrix exclusively.... you're not pretentious at all....

  • @BluesmaNeedham I don't think you know what pretentious means, but let me be pretentious by saying John Mayer is garbage for people who don't know what the blues is

  • Comment removed

  • @SoundboyEric How is he garbage? I listen to B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, and a bunch of other well known blues artists and I have to say that John Mayer by no means is a shabby guitar player. He's also got a pretty damn good voice. This is evident in his ability to sell records and receive acclaim from the likes of Clapton. Nostalgia and pretentiousness may very well be playing a part in your dislike of him. The whole "I hate him because he's mainstream now" trend is pathetic.

  • @ayersj14 Agreed. He's considered by many (music industry people) to be one of the best guitarists alive. You might not agree, but everyone gets their own opinion. And I'm not some crazy fanboy, it's just fact.

  • I don't think that those girls know exactly that Jimi Hendrix song o_O

  • @baboocat1 ....Seriously, you gotta stop with the text lingo. This is the written page. Let your message shine with grammatical attributes depicting your intelligence!

  • @laughter1drama0

Haha couldn't agree more. While i was interrested in baboocat1's comments, i had a hard time reading them :P

  • baboocat1.... do you write in such horrid English merely to be noticed? You have a great message! It should stand out for it's knowledge and intelligence and not for it's gansta text message lingo and spelling. Please. Let your grammar SHINE!!! You'd be surprised how many more people will want to hear you.... xox, I go in peace my friend.

  • I dont know when Mayer switched to Blues but I like it///kinda...better than waiting for the world to change lol

  • @fattirevsbud he never switched, he just didn't ever let you hear it

  • Scroll back up to the video... ENJOY THE MUSIC.

  • The Intro actually sounds like the intro to Miles Davis - Spanish Key

  • One of the good things about this guy is that he put hot girls listening great muisic :D

  • sexy...no homo but john really can play guitar well

  • Comment removed

  • @Sw1tchBladeMalone don't be such a pretentious faggot, the songs that @pinklaydee2006 likes are fucking classics. HENCE why they'd be top on google. And who are you to bang on about liking Eminem and Rihanna, when your uploads are of shite hip hop?

  • @tompascoew everyone involved with this argument is a loser

  • love the music, dont like how many pictures have him and his shirt off. kinda hard to watch in starbucks (ppl are looking.... :S) haha. but great over all!!

  • Poseur

  • @wisesatyr72 John Mayer? A ''poseur''? Dude, you gotta lay off the crack.

  • @wisesatyr72 John Mayer? A ''poseur''? Dude, you gotta lay off the crack.

  • I bet most of the crowd doesnt even know what song he's playing or who made it..

  • Most of his fans are chicks, hear the screaming in the audience, and they're not there for blues guitar, they want him to sing about their "Bubble gum tongue" and "their body is a wonderland" - it's sad but true. If he started out as a blues player AND ONLY a blues player, he would have less fan base. None of those chicks like blues, by the way, he is a sell out. Good guitar player though. SAd he went the fag route.

  • @Sw1tchBladeMalone stop generalising. I'm a chick and yes I find John extremely hot. But I became a fan of his because of the blues music he played. Your Body is a Wonderland is my least favourite song. I'm a chick and I love blues music. Don't speak for other people, you have no idea

  • @pinklaydee2006 Who's your favorite blues artist? Name some of your favorite blues songs? Notice you couldn't mention how much a fan you were without sayin "He's hot" - LOL - Yeah I watch Baywatch because I'm a fan of the day today duties lifeguards must face.

  • @Sw1tchBladeMalone my favourite blues artist is BB King. My favourite songs of his are The Thrill is Gone, Better Not Look Down and Sweet Little Angel. Other fav blues songs are Pride & Joy - SRV, Buddy Guy - Damn Right I've Got The Blues plus many many more! I love many bands & artists over many different genres and do not find any of them attractive as I enjoy music with my ears not my eyes. The fact that I just so happen to find JM attractive is completely irrelevant. Good day to you sir

  • @pinklaydee2006 Naming Pop Blues chartoppers from the 80's doesnt make you a blues fan. Thats like me saying i'm a doors fan because I listened to "light my fire"

  • @Sw1tchBladeMalone 1st of all, because they charted well I don't like blues? haha utterly ridiculous! can't name them all in 481 characters, they're my choices so deal with it. 2nd of all,who are you to judge other people's musical tastes? You need to get over yourself. And thirdly, you stated that "chicks" only like JM for his "bubblegum pop",where as I have just proven you wrong as I said I started liking him because of his blues style. You've made yourself look a bit of a twat tbh, lmao at you haha

  • @pinklaydee2006 This is coming from someone who has eminem and rhianna on their favorites. Anyone can type in "Top Blues Songs" on google, and the ones you listed would come up. I am having fun proving you wrong, keep arguing with me.

  • @Sw1tchBladeMalone proving me wrong about what? The fact I like blues music? That makes no sense. You couldn't possibly do that as you don't know me, and besides, that's a ridiculous argument to have. I get it now, you're a 12 year old internet troll. why aren't you at school? And where does it say Rihanna is in my favourites? she just so happened to be at a festival I was at, performing with Eminem. Blind as well as dumb. I'm not arguing with a 12 year old, sorry. come back in a few years

  • @pinklaydee2006 Don't be embarassed Rhianna and Eminem are your top favorites and you like John mayer because he's shirtless, and the only blues you know are the ones you name drop off the top of your head. If you're a poser just admit it. If you like blues, get into it. Start playing guitar. Pick up some blues shit. Don't act like you are something you're not because your feminin need for a b1tch slapping keeps you jabber jawing.

  • @Sw1tchBladeMalone I'm sorry I can't hear you over my John Mayer music... you'll have to speak up!

  • @pinklaydee2006 I win. Now give me some head.

  • @pinklaydee2006 I win. Now bend over and take this dick.

  • @Sw1tchBladeMalone you've won nothing wankshaft. If you ever come to England, feel free to drop by and I'll show you my blues collection :)

  • @goodguitar1

LOL Look everyone, Justin Bieber commented.

  • So many haters

  • nice, he's got it.

  • Hes a stevie ray copy just like a million other guys.... Nothing interesting about his playing whatsoever......

  • I dont respect guys who sell out with Fag music then try to play blues. I can play just like him. I like the way he plays. But I would never sing sell out faggy music to make millions. And to be honest, my manhood isn't capable of it. Only reason I'm even commenting on John Mayer is he can play good blues guitar, until he opens his mouth.

  • @Sw1tchBladeMalone Whats your point here buddy? if your so fucking good, show us the money. Go win numerous grammy's, then have the freedom to play blues infront of thousands of fans. You may think its faggy music, but some of us less narrow-minded folk can tell the difference between real music and one hit wonders. John writes some of the most intelligent lyrics out there, and if you would get past your homophobia, you'd reconize it too. So instead of killing this tune, go make an album, bitch.

  • @banazo00 Again, I'd have to sell out and write Faggy music, even then the chances are slim. That's alrght though keep ridng his dick. I don't mind. He's a very good guitar player, I dig his music. Just wish he wouldhave stayed true to it, not write shit like "Your body is a wonderlnd" you feel me, probably not. Seeya.

  • @banazo00 a blues guitarist cant make it in the industry. Maybe 30 years ago, but not today. Mainstream media needs fag sh1t. Look at justin bieber, look at john maye 10 years ago, brittemy spears, ect - I would never play sh1t like this to get famous, because I can't. I'm not hatin on his guitar playin just the way he sold ou to get famous.Be real.

  • @Sw1tchBladeMalone Since when has he sold out? He writes brilliant songs, and it just so happens the more poppy ones make the radio, which isn't surprising. Look at Hendrix, as soon as Purple Haze hit the radio, people thought he was some whacked out drug abuser, which was far from the truth. He was a great song writer as well as chord voicing, but you could only know that if you listened to a full album. Same goes for mayer, if you listen to the full album, you'll find he hasn't sold out.

  • @banazo00 I'd like to agree except for the "drug abuser" part. He took a lot of that shit. But hey, it works for him. He's a legit genius. :))

  • @banazo00 That's the real! The radio is only good for paying the bills of the radio station itself so they play what sells. They could care less about the purity of the artist.

  • @banazo00 Hate to break it to you, but Jimi WAS a whacked out drug user. Haha. But a brilliant one.

  • YOUR BODY IS A WONDER LAND.... lol what a f@g sellout

  • lol i think he copied the harmony's a bit wrong. hehe bless, perhaps he hasn't finished working it out yet. Can you people not tell? bah .. ok blame the band!

  • @RJP50X Couldn't agree more.

  • Sometimes you have to be a douche bag to write good music....Lol what am i saying?

  • @TheAngelJC Jimi Hendrix wrote this song, and hes nog a douche, :]

  • to sum it up John Mayer is a dooshbag who writes good songs and is a pretty underrated guitar player

  • impressive

  • There are plenty players just as good as him. The music industry is just stupid and gives a fuck about what you look like.

  • @Retina100000 true

  • When our country was totally closed and we had to listen to music secretly, it seemed much better, because we didn't see musicians' tattoos and rig-outs.

  • I can appreciate Mayer when he plays REAL blues, but his poppish lullaby songs aren't really my cup of tea. He should stick with blues exclusively if ya ask me.

  • Hes the best it can get.

  • i love how all the people (women) start screaming when the drums kick in, like they know the song. :P great cover though, it's songs like this that give me hope of receiving a proper (not a popular) album from Mayer.

  • please record this professionally john....

  • anyone know where this is? or if there is a recording of the whole concert? or just a download link to this song? please and thank

  • He sure poors his heart and soul into his music

  • Good cover, way better original :P

  • this is actually pretty sick. haters gonna hate (as usual)

  • @PMurray2694 yeh I hear ya..

Why compare people in the first place.. Different is a good thing, does not make someone bad if they are...

So childish ....sounds like my dad is tougher than your dad... ( Dont care rings a bell...) Music, enjoy it. ....

  • If that's bob reynolds on bari, i'm gonna lose it.

  • JUST A CUTIE WITH GUITAR NO FEELING OR OWN PERSONALITY SORRY!!

  • @metroidwylde

    Stupid comment sorry ...

  • It's all good. Bring Jimi back to the masses.

  • John is too much of a clean freak do get down and dirty with some real funky blues..... he is good but i mean... it is also a commitment to represent the lowly... the earthy... the real....

  • I'd like to dislike him and I'm not really a fan of the way he sings, but he plays very, very well. He takes elements of other great guitarists that have inspired him but makes his own sound out of it.

  • @halo4484 pretty much like any other guitarist then.. lol

  • A little boy trying to sing a man's song.

  • @robertmacisaac lol, what can you do? comment on vids?

  • @MakeSensePlz I've played electric guitar for 30+ yrs., so I think I'm qualified to comment on him. If he were around from 1965-75, the age of the guitar greats, nobody would even know who he was.

  • @robertmacisaac well ive only played for 2 years but why would no one have heard of him? i mean all eric clapton did was copy all the great blues players that were around before him. maybe we should stop petty internet arguments like him and just enjoy the music. cause no matter what u think of him, this cover is good man.

  • @robertmacisaac True. If he were around when Ike Turner was around, Ike would have bitch slapped him. Chuck Berry would have kicked his ass and pissed on him, like he did to Keith Richards. Hendrix was a rather laid back, cool fellow but I think he would have treated Mayer like Noel and kicked his front teeth in. Most people can tell a poser POS when they see and hear one, unfortunately a bunch of pussified people these days think this is the real deal.

  • @joesl8 Poser is a good word for him. He is pretending to be a blues man.

  • @joesl8 TOTTALLY RITE! JUST AN AVERAGE CUTE PLAYER BUT ANY FEELING AND OWN PERSONALITY

  • @joesl8 You know what? Bullshit. Maybe he's too white for ya? He's a great player, and a great musician.

  • @altclyti SRV, Clapton, Ronnie Earl, Joe Bassanova, Doyle Bramhall II, Jimmy Page, Johnny Winter, Gilmour, jim campilongo, Gibbons, Frampton, Green, etc. etc. are all better and have way more soul than this POS POSER. ...And they are all black men trapped inside a white man's body. JK : )

  • @joesl8 Who is Joe Bassanova? Do you mean Joe Bonamassa? Lol.

  • @metalliczombie Hahahahaahahahahahaaha... this is hilarious!!!!!!!!! XDDDDDDD

  • @joesl8 You just have no idea of what you're saying, man.

  • @JusticieroDeLaMuerte Yes. I do. If you like John Mayer, you may be a homosexual?

  • Comment removed

  • @joesl8 I am. And I'd like to suck your cock to drink your milk. If you don't like something, don't listen to it. Just that simple. You must have something inside that burns you, otherwise you wouldn't be here criticizing a guy who succeed doing what he loves. Probably you're that wannabe guy who tried to be a guitar hero and at some point realized that had no enough talent, so you spent the most part of your life playing on your bed along records instead of doing your own thing. Douchebag!

  • @JusticieroDeLaMuerte WTF. Don't get mad at me because you're gay!?

I'm glad to just have a normal job, I don't need to be an arrogant wannabe.

You should be happy, he's gay, you're gay...you have a chance to do the

Broke Back Mountain thing with your hero!! YaY!!

  • @joesl8 I like you!

  • @robertmacisaac Then why do people like Clapton, Guy, and B.B. King endorse him?

  • he should play shirtless alllll the time ;)

  • boring=put you shirt back

  • 2:52

  • Gotta love these YouTube "purists" that couldn't play their way out of a wet paper sack trying to placate their insecurities by slamming Mayer, a universally renowned guitarist. The funniest ones are from those that are obviously musicians, never achieved anything except to perfect extracting weed from bong water, trying to point out Mayer's shortcomings. Musicians can be the biggest a-holes...

  • @jimistreets ur a fucking idiot, john mayer is not a universally renowned guitarist, he isnt even acknowledged in the guitar world, he is only acknowledged by his own fans who clearly no nothing about guitar other wise they couldnt stand listening to this fool try n play, universally renowned guitarist, maybe u wanna check out some people like - marty friedman, chris polland, dimebag darrell, zakk wylde, steve vai, joe satriani, dave mustaine,

  • @deadslutbluewater

yeah im sure thats why JM has a fender sig.

yeah im sure thats why JM performed with double trouble various of times

yeah im sure thats why JM performs with clapton numerious of times

yeah im sure thats why JM performed with BB King

Because hes not acknowledged in the guitar world.

Correctify your post by saying YOU dont acknowledge him.

Dont stand too much in the chemtrails, they tend to cause shortsightening.

  • @jimmyschot Hey Jimmy...Isn't it hilarious when people like "deadslut...etc." show their complete ignorance while trying to point out how ignorant others are?! I'm guessing, but he sounds like he's about 18 years old and still has yet to realize that shredding isn't the epitome of guitar playing. He'd probably say B.B. King or Les Paul sucks too!

  • @jimmyschot haha yeh man cause fender gave him a sig cause of his virtuoso skills, and eric clapton is just an extremely skilled guitarist that modern guitarist give a shit about, the fact that u listed eric claptoon n bb king, 2 old dieing out dated guitarist as tokens of mayers credibility as a guitarist just highlights ur knowledge of what a great guitarist is. hes a singer who plays guitar, he is defiantly not a great guitarist

  • All i know is, I love having someone like Mayer around to play proper music, not talking about his sweet honey pop songs, but his ability to play (raw) blues, take hendrix' songs and make them work, that stuff.

There is no knowledge when it comes to great guitarist, just taste, hes far more then a singer who plays guitar, to me, hes a guitarist first. and hes a damned good one.

  • @deadslutbluewater ... sorry man he is. "He was astounding to me! I couldn't wait to phone my wife and tell her how good this kid was on the guitar. I had seen and heard many wanna-be SRV players, but none of them came close. Nobody sounds like SRV. It was just how John played SRV songs. He was excellent!...I knew then my days on the road were not over. They still aren't. I'm still with him" - Rene Martinez - SRV's former guitar tech.

  • @meandmia srv LOL, being a blues guitarist is like a pathetic excuse for not being able to shred, u think im going to respect u cause u were srv's guitar tech, or care about ur opinion or the fact everyone is going to take u seriously n think im just some kid who doesnt appreciate fine blues playing, im 22 years old and can out play srv in every skill and aspect of guitar, simply because i aspire to a superior form of guitar playing neo classical METAL,

  • @deadslutbluewater well congratulations you dumb shit you can move your fingers reaalllyyyy fast. I'm sure that'll really come in handy next time you're fingering daddys' ass hole. Blues guitar is the soul and the root of everything rock that came after it Try and make a guitar talk like these guys do, make it sing, not just fucking hammer out notes fast. shut the fuck up and appreciate the classics that MADE you're metal bands who they are. no one likes neo classical metal, go suck a dick

  • @joshpearn lol, i know what blues guitar is, these guys just do not play it well, zakk wylde, david gilmoure, steve vai play it well, make it sing, listen to a zak wylde solo, or steve vai tender surrender if u wanna here a guiatr talk, or the blues played with skill, i play alot of blues, i love it.

  • @deadslutbluewater

Zack Wylde and Vai don't come close to blues. It doesn't have to be distorted to be blues. No disrespect to their playing. They're both great but you're comparing apples and oranges. Meyer does a nice job playing this. He's bringing Jimi to the those who wouldn't normally hear it. I think it's a good thing.

  • @Axisbold fucking retard, wylde doesnt come close to blues, do u even know wtf the blues is?

99 percent of his guitar solos r stricly written of blues scales, but u probly dont even know a single one of his solos, n vai doesnt play blues? jesus christ, have u even heard tender surrender, shut u stupid fuking mouth u complete retard

  • @deadslutbluewater Oh really?! And I"M the effing idiot? Time to get out of your refrigerator box and learn what is happening in the music world. The guys you listed are all great, but so is Mayer. He may not be universally renowned between your ears, but to the actual music business he damned sure is. Did you actually think that you were naming off people I never heard of?! Now that's funny, especially given my musical background, which you know NOTHING about! Have a nice day!

  • Not many people can come close to the legends these days, but that can't be said about john mayer

  • they're both incredible guitarists... they're styles are way different though.

  • way to slaughter a great song, john gayer

  • @SoundboyEric he definitely did not slaughter this song

  • @IHateOnPeopleHella well whats worse than slaughter then, genocide or rape?

  • @SoundboyEric hilarious

  • Dear katelovesbeans...good comment!..that was as well composed as John mayer's songs!

  • wow... John Mayer's one of those guys who becomes a pop star early on, and you think "gee he's one talented dude, I hope he finds some taste - he'll be a legend if he does".

Seems like he's found taste... GORGEOUS guitar tone he gets - I'm assuming he's playing a Fender... damn nice.

  • john meyer kicks butt on guitar, loves hendrix, and SRV, and lets enjoy HIM while he's still with us....

  • Great cover !, Hendrix still kills this guy though =p

  • He's amazing and I suspect Hendrix would love it too...

  • @DINGLEtheBERRY you think JM is actually trying to rip Hendrix off? That's a pretty bold and naive statement. It's nothing more than paying him tribute, he does the same thing for SRV so much. Paying tribute to the musicians his music itself is derived from. I guarantee you that SRV and Hendrix take it as a compliment that he covers their songs.

  • @cdhcky13 c'mon, we are all trying to rip hendrix, he's the best guitarrist in history... woudn't you like to rip the best off? hahaha

JM said once "it's my unabillity to sound like my heros what gave me my sound" i guess that's what it all comes down at the end.

  • @Nightwizard17 he also said once, " my ability as a guitarist is measured by my failure to become jimi hendrix."

  • @cdhcky13 ya i guess

  • John Mayer is the next Van Halen = Wicked Chops, atrocious songwriting.

  • John mayer is definitely in a strange place as a musician. He is loved and claimed to be a great musician by the masses who don't know crap about music and guitar, which makes many of the actual guitar players and others not like him. However, he truley is a sick musician (in a good way lol)

  • @LuisWahWah Actually a lot of guitar players respect him as a musician. He's my main influence.

  • @TintedRedFilms good to know. He's been growing on me more and more. I was merely referring to people who I've heard saying he sucks simply because they don't like his pop-style of music.

  • This guy sounds exactly like Robin Trower.

  • well t'was nice :D

  • All I know is that Mayer is an excellent guitarist with a ton of musicianship. All he is simply doing here is paying tribute to one of his influences. I don't understand why people are mad because of that, and to be honest it gets me pissed. John has got to be one of the most underrated guitarists ever, he deserves all of the praise he gets, and then some.

  • this is coming from a person who knows good music and true musicians...if mayer's music and guitar playing didn't come from the soul, he wouldn't be this well known. People would see right through him.

  • Comment removed

  • @DINGLEtheBERRY Then I suggest you go and listen to Hendrix and stop listening to Mayer, it's not exactly a difficult thing to put into practice.

  • @Aardvarked88 ya ok

  • @mbasketcballb I think that's probably his sax player
