Oh I know the balled up paper routine, and the loss of sleep, and ideas, and ability to focus. You have to write from the sub-conscious. If you force yourself to write about a particular thing, the trick is to not think of the deadline or think of it as an assignment. Just let the ideas come to you. Revise afterward.

Definately...free writing is the way to go. Give yourself so much time before the deadline...that the deadline isn't even an issue. Yeah...sounds odd for a college kid...but that's what I do, aliright...and I be in the honor's program.

I love this movie, one of my all time faves. But I just realized, and especially in this scene, how they drop unnecessary f-bombs.
