@thel0olz It's near impossible to drift a 2WD R/C car. 2WD would be preferably for a real car, but R/C cars lack the mass and the ability for proportional control. Just about every drifting video on youtube shows 4WD cars.

@Littleyost well, idk if it was just me, but i got my 4w drive kit for 9.99. i guess it was on mega sale. but, im think about buying an older xmod, like the f150, if i can find one, ill probably buy another 4w drive kit, a rise kit, and a stage 2 motor kit so i can take it out in the elements.

my friend had an f150 and the lift kit, but we took it in the dirt, and some sand got in the gearbox, and it never worked the same. it died after a while, the gears would be all crunchy. i think its still ok to drive it outside, but dont go in the dirt/sand. drive it on thick trimmed grass or something. it looked badass though, the tires were kicking up sand everywhere. it was cool.

okay, i bought the Corvette Zo6, and about a week after i got it, the drive shaft broke. oh no! well, i thought quick, and went and bought the 4 wheel drive kit. i saved my xmod! and now it has front wheel drive. this is @littleyost. well, i did buy the stage 2 motor updrage kit. damn, that car went fast. i got some good power slides on very soft concrete. but, i highly recommend buying rechargable batteries because after about 10 minutes the batteries are dead. but still awesome.

@2br00tal216 yea i got one on sale at radioshack for 25 bucks but they didnt have the 4wd kit. then out of the blue my buddy gave me his car and all his extras. i cant really get it to drift on my floors but i did find out that with a 9v battery wired in and taped to the top of the body makes one hell of a drag car

guys my buddy just bought the corvette xmod and i thought why the hell would u pay that much for a toy?? the guys 22 btw. then he started upgrading it and put in the engine upgrade and lowest possible gears and omg did that thing scream. bottom line is i am going to get one now lol, but i want the best one for drifting. now are the internals the same on all stock starter kits? or is there a diff. besides the body? anyone mind helpin me out?

They're all the same. I'd suggest you shell out a little more and get a Kyosho Mini-Z AWD. By the time you finish upgrading an Xmod to perform as well as the Mini-Z, you would have paid the same amount.

no you dont.. just get hard slick tires.. drive them on concrete for like 5 mins then take it on marble.. and w/ RWD and the right throttle u can make them drive really well around sharp turns

Incorrect, rear wheel drive drifts have been done before. As has cars without drift kits. You could just put black electrical take around the tires.

tryshepard drift tires only help if you have all wheel drive but if you really want to drift like a pro don't use AWD because when u take it out and try it its evan harder . try with out all wheel drive and pratcie your throttle controle and stering

if u have 4wheel drive it makes things alot easier. (to answer ur question- either the drift plastic wheeles for a specialized foam track, OR hard rubber wheeles from the upgrade pack for smooth asphalt and hard woods.
