Cognitive dissonance and pattern recognition often relate information that is false if we pay attention. It takes awareness of oneself and the world though to be aware of such. Very interesting. Also though there are those who padlock and choose to ignore things, we do this often in the name of survival. Here is a theory, the stronger the need to survive, the less reason to pay attention to cognitive dissonance.
