You forgot to mention in the video that William ordered his archers to fire just over the top of the English shield wall, disrupting the English lines. This tactic, essential to William's victory, is depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry.
Edward actually promised the throne to William before he died but the warlords of the time chose Harold as king which needless to say really pissed William off.
Its an excellent video. The use of visuals brings to life what Dorothy Whitelock couldn't. Godwinson could be spelled many different ways, although by the eleventh century, english was much more standardized than Alfred's time.
Norman propaganda holds the key to the Bayeux Tapestry. Harold was not killed by an arrow in the eye - this was later added to cover-up the Norman atrocity that Harold was actually mutilated and disembowled at the end of the days battle. It was a close-run thing. Harold was very close to victory at one stage. His men however, were outnumbered, tired and not of the same calibre as the men that fought earlier at Stamford Bridge. William - unbelievably lucky for most of his life - was lucky again.
you missed out one part Harold got shot in the eye by a bone arrow and then williams soldiers went to him to check if hes dead but just in case the stab him with a sword and after the fight williams soldiers go around the place stripping Harold's dead soldiers clothes them for more wepons and clothing
you have forgot to mention the mistrel taillefer and how he had tried to encourage to troops by charging the brits and killed 7 before being killed himself
William let the other 2 factions destroy each other and than mopped up the rest.
That's the main reason

The spelling is correct, the decendants of Harold Godwinson still live in Hampshire. Godwinson means son of Gods joy.
