first of all thank you sooo very much for this track.. I had been hunting for this for almost 3 months after i first heard a bit of it somewhere outside.. and yes if anyone wants to download it.. install the programme internet download manager.. you can download it in .flv format..
I don't usually appreciate when someone sings a particular carnatic piece in any form other than in the traditional way, but this particular piece has been beautifully done, Great work!...

Her pronounciation of Kannada words need to improve. And she should try to catch the correct words used by the composer e.g.Magugala Manikyana is spelt as Madhukara Manikyana.
Really agree. I was in tears hearing the rendering of this song. Great fusion keeping the percussions subtle bringing out the bhavam of the song. Great visuals too.
Thankyou very much My Lord for gifting and blessing our great nation and us with the most beautiful form of music Known as Carnatic and HIndustani.... No other music in the world will ever be able to give us this feeling.......
The video does not befit this song. A more traditional version like that of M.S.Subhlaxmi would have been more appropriate as the video is kinda ritualistic. Some special effects with splendour may resonate well. But this is a good attempt and I really like the song. Thanks for your efforts.
download realplayer and then wen u move ur cursor on this video it shows a link on the top in the right side. click on that link and u wil get the song in ur bulk.
This is a very good composition of Sri Purandara Dasaru - the only versatile part of Devaranamas composed by SriPurandara Dasaru and Sri Kanaka Dasaru - also very well known in the carnatic music circles as Dasara Padagalu is sung in their own twists and tunes by each artist. Unlike a strict composition when it comes to Sri Thiagarajar's kritis.
awesome...even when u r deep drowned by an universe of sin, this divine music will take you to the gates of heaven. thanks a lot for kamikotisankara. keep up the great work going.
Karnataka (Carnatic) Music founder, Sri Purandara Daasa's great composition is rendered in different way than norms set by great RajIyengar, MS and others. In CD the words are split irregularly to fit music. It may be OK if some would like to enjoy this way. But what strikes is no mention of composer Sri Purandara Daasa's name on the album's webpage. If what is seen is true, then one cannot believe the mean attitude of so-called popular musicians.
Kanbandu i agree with your thoughts. Purandara dasars name should have been included. I also dont agree with splitting of words. we all know that many indian languages including all S. Indian languges are very much linked with forms, just not sounds. so splitting will entirely change the effect of a kruthi. But I have one doubt or Q, every one says purandara dasa as founder of Karnatik music...but I have a different opinion.
Probably because of him the southern indian classical music got an organised form and a name...how come he be called as founder...like bharatham had a name called Sathir before it was called as bharatham. I tamil we have records of Pann sung in many different raagas even 2000 years before....????
Yes I agree there were many forms of music in all states and languages of India. But as some one told on youtube, apples were falling before Newton but he is called the founder of Gravitational theory. The Karnataka AKA Carnatic music of today is because of original and innovative works Sri Purandara Daasaru and his many followers over centuries.
I don't understand.... This is such a beautiful modified version... with a lot of nuances included...Why do we have to disregard all the innivations even if it is great?
