My mum has a similar issue. I bought her hand sanitizer as a joke for her birthday and she's used it every day. Whenever we are out - yes, I go on outings with my mother. She's my only friend - and she passes a hand sanitizer dispenser, she uses it. You'd be surprised how many opportunities she finds to clean her hands. I'm worried she bleaches them on occasion.

There's actually germs in the shower also from the water. Water has a ton of germs so washing hands doesn't really help all it does it remove residue stuck on the hand. The germs however aren't all washed away even with soap. Also the more soap you use to wash your hands the more the germs will become immune to the soap and cause a greater problem for yourself and humanity. So please easy on the soap and easy on the hand sanitizers. Thanks~

Some germs are good for you. i like to wash my hands all the time too. other than what u've mentioned in ur video, i also hate pressing the elevator button (i usually press with my keys), and holding the escalator (i don't touch it).
here's a way to think, germs are everywhere. many of them are good germs. it's really only the bad germs you need to worry about. obviously, you live very clean, so you are alot less likely to come in contact with bad germs that can get you ill. it's very much a mind over matter situation, since germs are very microscopic, and can't be seen with the naked eye.

I experienced this years ago with opening and closing doors before leaving my house , I had to keep looking in before i left ( for what i don't know ) i never knew what it was ( OCD ) and forgot about it because it went away , it's like you have to keep looking in and checking because you have this unsettled feeling inside and your stuck and can't leave the senero without checking 100 times !
I think youre just bored, I dont think you have ocd. And btw being a germaphobic is totally different than ocd. OCD is where you feel like crap if you dont perform a repetative ritual to block out unwanted thoughts or during day to day tasks and these rituals are in reality pointless but hard to avoid mentally. Like, if you get a flu strain, once you get better you can never get that strain of flu again. On top of all this I have OCD too, but I dont ever worry about germs, I mean, after I go to the bathroom I wash my hands, but everybody does that, not just me. My OCD is way different from normal OCD.

Hmmm... Have you ever considered trying to alter your perspective on germs themselves? For instance, we know that it is actually UNhealthy for us if we are too "sterile" in our day-to-day lifestyles because, our bodies' immune systems will be very weak and far more prone to illness if we do not give them regular "exercise" by exposing them to some germs. It's like, if you did't ever walk anywhere, the muscles in your legs will slowly become useless and waste away.
I find it pretty gross when waiters drop a (germ infested) menu onto the plate you're supposed to eat your entree with..and it happens nearly every time I eat out. Eww..
I think i might have ocd but i'm not sure and the internet is not really by friend at the moment. so, ill ask you.. can ocd also have to do with imitating sounds (for an example: when someone dishes, or stamping with their feets) and doing different kind of movements when you hear that particular sound? I also get reeaally irritated when i hear these sounds...
Whenever I wash my hands, my brain automatically starts counting and I must wash for at least 15 seconds. I also tend to discreetly wipe my hand off after shaking hands with someone.
I have this weird ocd thing where if something touches like, my right arm, it has to touch my left arm as well, or i go nuts, or I can't have a sock on one foot and not the other... weird, and pointless I know, but it freaks me out if things arn't "even"...

I you have ocd and had Tried the shrinks "LEGAL MEDIKATIONS" and it hasn't work is merely bekause they don't fucking work. Shrinks work with what you give 'em, more than that they kan't do, and i understand that. but if they don't know exaktly what you're dealing with don't give out your poison. the so kalled "ILLEGAL DRUG" MARIHUANA has work better and it hasn't give me any of the fucked up side effect that the "legal drugs" had.

I experienced this years ago with opening and closing doors before leaving my house , I had to keep looking in before i left ( for what i don't know ) i never knew what it was ( OCD ) and forgot about it because it went away , it's like you have to keep looking in and checking because you have this unsettled feeling inside and your stuck and can't leave the senero without checking 100 times !

I think youre just bored, I dont think you have ocd. And btw being a germaphobic is totally different than ocd. OCD is where you feel like crap if you dont perform a repetative ritual to block out unwanted thoughts or during day to day tasks and these rituals are in reality pointless but hard to avoid mentally. Like, if you get a flu strain, once you get better you can never get that strain of flu again. On top of all this I have OCD too, but I dont ever worry about germs, I mean, after I go to the bathroom I wash my hands, but everybody does that, not just me. My OCD is way different from normal OCD.

@ShhhhhItsasecret Well it depends. Sometimes i have enough insight to recognize which thoughts are irrational/ absurd, and I can brush them off with some cognitive effort. Othertimes It'll affect my emotions, even though cognatively I know its dumb.

Hmmm... Have you ever considered trying to alter your perspective on germs themselves? For instance, we know that it is actually UNhealthy for us if we are too "sterile" in our day-to-day lifestyles because, our bodies' immune systems will be very weak and far more prone to illness if we do not give them regular "exercise" by exposing them to some germs. It's like, if you did't ever walk anywhere, the muscles in your legs will slowly become useless and waste away.

I think i might have ocd but i'm not sure and the internet is not really by friend at the moment. so, ill ask you.. can ocd also have to do with imitating sounds (for an example: when someone dishes, or stamping with their feets) and doing different kind of movements when you hear that particular sound? I also get reeaally irritated when i hear these sounds...

i dont have ocd, i m positivly sure about this but MONEY, touching money, freaks me out too.. i have no problem cuddling kitties on the streets but when i look at money, what i see is germs germs germs.. oh also, 2:07, its probably just oxidization, you cant see germs like that, it s a chemical reaction.. (to germs probably what the hell do i know..)
but anyway, i wonder if people had ocd before science discovered germs..medieval guys going "i just cant touch horse poop" or whatever..

I you have ocd and had Tried the shrinks "LEGAL MEDIKATIONS" and it hasn't work is merely bekause they don't fucking work. Shrinks work with what you give 'em, more than that they kan't do, and i understand that. but if they don't know exaktly what you're dealing with don't give out your poison. the so kalled "ILLEGAL DRUG" MARIHUANA has work better and it hasn't give me any of the fucked up side effect that the "legal drugs" had.
