Airbending is one of the most complex styles of bending also one of the hardest to train for airbending comes easier with knowledge of the history of bending. I know waterbending and i progressed to level 3 out of 7 but i tried learning airbending and only progressed to level 2 out of 12. :(

the theory for control of the basic elements is that the person has to learn to control themselves first. But in real life a person has to develop his common sense, his empathy, and then understand his or her higher thought force. Its sounds rather new age but its always been the natural process to the deeper aspects of the spirit or the self. also people you really need to start actually understanding that what you think is supernatural is normal and NATURAL. It means it exists always.
