"Our Laws", as you refer to them, are the geneva conventions, which are supposed to protect all soldiers in war time. I know it's a quandary and perhaps they should have just shot him when they had the chance. But nevertheless, the Geneva convention not only applies but, it was ratified and once done, a treaty becomes the "law of the land". Again, we may not like it, may wish it weren't so, but nevertheless that is the case and we are a nation of laws not a nation of "we shouldn't care".

Our laws don't apply to terrorists in combat zones. And this was just a fat lip that was caused during the apprehension, people get injured in arrests all the time. Those seals shouldn't be on trial for it. In WWI, when pows were taken, machine gunners were often shot on sight, no trial.

"Our Laws", as you refer to them, are the geneva conventions, which are supposed to protect all soldiers in war time. I know it's a quandary and perhaps they should have just shot him when they had the chance. But nevertheless, the Geneva convention not only applies but, it was ratified and once done, a treaty becomes the "law of the land". Again, we may not like it, may wish it weren't so, but nevertheless that is the case and we are a nation of laws not a nation of "we shouldn't care".
