You can select a .sav file in newer versions (beginning from .9.4). If you are going to TAS Squeak Squad, you should use 9.4+ and enable "Fast-Fetch Execute" in the options menu before recording. This removes emulation lag which doesn't appear on the real console. I heard this lag is also removed on 9.5, but I didn't confirm it and I don't use it since I had problems with this version.
Awesome TAS! Though despite being a huge Kirby fan, I still consider Kirby Squeak Squad to be the black sheep of the series. It's just so... Unoriginal.
You're right. It has some nice parts and the music is pretty good. But it's just not innovative, enemies are placed losely throughout the rooms, and the Squeak Squad sequences are annoying.
I consider Kirby & The Amazing Mirror as the best Kirby game, btw.
It uses the same sprites and engine but it's just a lot less innovative. I don't really like the bubbles in SqSq, and the maze concept is something I loved about KatAM. I played both games more than 50 hours so it's not like I hate SqSq, but it's just not as good as KatAM in my opinion. I'd like to see another sequel.
Squeak squad was more treasure oriented. Plus squeak squad is MUCH easier. The only thing stopping me from completing it in 1 day was the star seal thing. And dark nebula dosent even NEED to be triple star'd.
I mean, the same thing happened with dark mind, but he was pretty challenging with or without master! You can easily kill dark nebula with hi-jump or something.
I agree Mugg Kirby & The Amazing Mirror is the best, it is different too, it has you connect everything which is more fun. Of all the Kirby games though I like Kirby 64 too.
I have a problem with my TAS. (I know this is on the obsolete video but still)
I use Desmume .9.2. Whenever I click "Record Movie" it decides to load a 0% save file. How do I make it load my 100% file?

I downloaded .9.4, so how do I select my save file and record?

Hmm, sorry I wasn't very clear. You need 9.4+ and not the regular 9.4.
TASvideos isn't working at the moment, but I think this is the version you are looking for: alturl(dot)com(slash)9pib
Did you enable "Fast-Fetch Execute"?
Just begin recording a new movie file (you will find this feature somewhere in the menus). You can select a .sav file in the next window.

Kirby squeak squad is basically amazing mirror without the whole maze concept.

Thanks. Although I'm not a fan of using RAM addresses (I prefer trial-and-error).
I'm working on a new run. I already saved 350 frames!

I just did a slide on those breakable blocks and then made Kirby float on the first possible frame.
