  • @applexxcore LOL that kid that acted out that line is my Global teacher hahaha

  • I dont know why but I love Jim Carrey in this!

  • goosebumps at 1:11-1:32

  • What is the name of music in the beginning of this video?????? Somebody tell me. I wanna know!!!!!

  • @Kanahirata "Life Goes On" by Marc Shaiman. The theme is just over 6 minutes in length on there.

  • i cryed

  • this was my first time seeing jim carrey play a serious role. when i was young i always thought of him as that as the ace ventura. love this

  • @mjjcng8958 Watch "The Majestic" its a serious movie and I think a good one of him. Based on some guy that loses his memory (i know) and has to decide which life to choose. PG-13 maybe.

  • Such an inspirational movie. Enjoy life whilst it lasts. :)

  • Love this scene, I always took that deer as if it was Joe's mother. Maybe it was God, or maybe just a deer. I guess it all depends of how strong your faith is. Which is what the "Simon Birch" is all about.

  • That makes me cry even more, he named his kid simon.

  • Jim Carrey was the one and only thing I liked about this film

  • If I was Joe I would've been looking at that deer wondering whether it came to finish the job hahahaaa

  • so sad :"(

  • The kid at the end teaches me global now :) ahaha we talk to him about this alll the time

  • haha thats my global teacher.

  • lol that kid is a social studies teacher at my school now

  • "into paradise may the angels lead you" the best line in the entire movie

  • Jim Carry played adult Joe. This had to be one of his best roles he played.

  • @lilirishsis1 no way dude, its all about liar liar.

  • @LAxLakersx24 now wai, all about The Mask and riddler. That is the true comedy of Jim.

  • @btyler4606 well, he is a comedian

  • Beautiful! Bittersweet, but beautiful!

  • love this movie so sad wish made movies like these now days

  • this song going be for couple 15 year about my family and im going say not day goes by that thank god bring my boyfriend in my life im sorry love this song

  • ya ur right the old movies are truly best all the movies suck now days but this love this movie

  • Mark Steven Johnson (director) uses the "Into paradise, may the angels lead you" on a tombstone in Ghost Rider; he mentions this in the film's commentary (and also pointing out that nobody has seen Simon Birch...lol).

  • the deers the symmbel

  • @evans205 Ya hope have one day 3 years

  • For anyone who wants to play 'Spot the Difference', read A Prayer for Owen Meany... have fun! XD

Anyway, I only vaguely remember this movie... I think I only ever got to watch the end (the bus in the water part). Since I was little, I cried to death; but, after reading the book and watching it 9+ years later, I have to say that the book, to me, was more touching than the movie.

No offense to the fans of the movie, of course. o.o

  • @MegaZ900 lol come one, books are ALWAYS better than their adaptations =D.

  • woops, i mean, come ON. not come one. lol. erm ok im out.

  • Best prayer I ever herd

  • i can't watch the movie without crying, it is my all-time favorite.....

  • JIM CARREY I LOVE YOU <3

  • Oh man i love him too.....Such a good man :'(

  • I just watched this film. Loved it!!

  • It's weird i have seen this movie soo many times in fact i have it on DVD yet i do not remember this part... BEST MOVIE I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFE THOUGH!!

  • i was like why the fuck am i watching this until i saw Jim Carrey in it. I'm watching this movie, no matter wtf people say. Jim Carrey. Owns.

  • :( i had a friend, lost him, he lived in australia i live overseas... its sooo sad and horrible not being there...

  • OMG!! I loved this movie =D TAHNK YOU!!I have been looking for this for years

  • Jadore vraiment cette vidéo elle me donne de l'amour au fond de moi ! =)

  • The best....

  • i watched the whole movie it made me cry

  • Is it creepy that I have a crush on a kid who's supposed to be 12 years old?

  • Well, he's probably like 24 now. So, all good for you. ;)

  • But 24-year-old Joseph Mazzello just doesn't do it for me.

    ...Pedophilia...

  • not its not creepy.haha im the same way.

  • don't worry i do to... lol/

  • Lmao....understandable.

  • its not creepy im the same way.

  • Hahaha me to :)

But he was 15 when he played the part, so thats a little better I guess? :P

  • This was an absolutely heartwarming and fantastic movie.

Why do we not see anymore of those types of movies these days? Has america grown too far apart from these movies?

    I miss them. : (

  • I agree. There were some great titles a bit like this from the 1990s. I did like The Mighty and The Cure, if you haven't already checked them out.

  • Yeah the 1990s had classic films like these. It is a shame you don't see much of them anymore.

  • Comment removed

  • u can see them soemtimes on family channel 51, old movies are on at weekends

  • yeah... it just reminded me of another good one, Freak the Mighty! amazing story

  • Oh my god, i´ve never seen this movie and it´s Jim Carrey in it!!! it´s a shame for me!!! Jim carrey is a very funny actor. ^^

  • he's only in that scene.. in the end.. you don't have to see this movie cause him.. :P

  • No he's in the beginning, too. Plus he narrates the whole film.

  • He does do good in his more serious roles too. I love his narration in this.

  • YOu sould read the book which inspired Simon Birch film. The story is .... oh my God so great (different than this one) and no comparison at all1!! really, you'll know when you read it!!! :))))

  • I agree. I think this movie does right by being a rather poignant family feature but I guess no movie can never fully make the translation from the book.

  • Absoluetly. The books is beyond incredible. You know, they changed the story so much for the movie that John Irving wouldn't allow his name or his character's names to be afilliated with it! That's why in the credits it says "Suggested by A Prayer for Owen Meany" or something of that nature. :)

  • Yeah, he did praise it still but obviously this was no Owen Meany. I would like to see him do a screenplay and maybe help out on the set if they were ever to do a movie more closer to the book. I know he did it with The Cider House Rules and that got quite a few awards.

  • I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Owen Meany portrayed on film. That would be divine.

  • I think you should all read A Prayer For Owen Meany, the book which Simon Birch film is based on. TheYOu will know what I mean when you read it! :)))))

  • i am going to cry tht was the most touching movie i ever saw i ma life (boooowooo*snifsnifsnif*

  • This was probably my favourite scene. Very touching indeed.

  • this was the sadist movie ever OMG yoooo this scene touches my heart deeeply OMGosh damnn make a dude cry out here =...[

  • This movie always makes me cry.

  • The music really compliments this movie.

this is one of the most touching scenes. haha. that sounds so weird, but it is.

i like how he stands up to the deer, almost as a symbol to show that maybe its simon or his mother watching over him.

its a really great scene. best scene.

  • This scene features the score 'Life Goes On' and it's probably the best piece of the movie. This score alone from Marc Shaiman was enough to make me consider purchasing the soundtrack.

I remember watching Patch Adams a few months before Simon Birch and I could tell the similar tones used since he composed that also.

  • god this is such a good movie!

  • i cried so much....

  • i didn't cry but very close to, i'm a man... not that men don't cry just not infront of people lol... have to agree with you this is one of the the BEST films ever out there...

  • "not that men don't cry in front of people"....lol

it is one of the best films....ever

  • gah i wish i could see this movie, haha could someone please send me a download link maybe?

  • ever heard of blockbuster or netflix?

  • well ya but im cheap lol

  • Come on. It really doesn't cost a lot in 2008 now. :)

  • Love this movie!

  • my balls just turned to raisins rofl man i love this movie.

  • shits gonna make me cry son DAMNNN yooo i love this movie and even tho jim carry played a small roll shit still was powerfull

  • best movie in the world!

  • at the beginning just him and the spirit of simon birch

  • Jim Carrey had a very good year back then. He starred in The Truman Show (even though the Academy overlooked him), and also did a very effective cameo appearance in this movie.

  • favorite movie ever.

  • omg joe is fucking hot......

  • He was played by Joseph Mazzello.

  • i no!

  • did anyone else notice that the deer was like everywhere? perhaps its symbolic? hmm

  • yah, the deer was by the pond at the beginning, then it crashed the bus, and at the end...

    definitely symbolic

  • the saddest and most amazing movei alive

    joe is fucking hot

  • Ye Joe is soooooooooooooooo hot

  • i love this movie

  • saddest mivie ever

  • what does the letters stand for?

  • Matters of Life and Death.

  • For Simon's first name and last and Joe's letters

  • what is MoLaD?

  • Joe's directional debut short film.

  • Thorpe, do you know if you can buy MoLaD?

  • Think so from the MoLaD website itself.

  • Simon dies because he saves the kids from drowning in the bus. He always belived he had a reason for being small and that is shown at the end when he can fit through the window (I think it's a window, but I can't remember for sure)to rescue the children due to his size.

  • Joe rocks... it's odd seeing him as a kid again after working with him on MoLaD... great guy.

    Sincerely,

    Joey Gowdy

  • I wish I was able to donate to the film. It would of been cool to be in the credits and support development.

  • Honestly, anyone that can watch Simon Birch or the Cure without crying their eyes out at the end has no soul. There, I said it.

  • best but saddest movie ever

  • do you know the name on this song ???????

  • Life Goes On by Marc Shaiman. It is available on the official soundtrack CD.

  • Lol I always am shocked and taken back by the fact that Jim Carrey plays adult Joe in this movie and totally forget it till the end

  • He saved the kids from drowning in the bus!

  • masterpiece

  • Everytime I see this movie, I somehow miss exactly WHAT happens to Simon. All I end up seeing is he and Ben walking into the cabin right as the reverend makes his little confession to Joe. Then I see him lying in the bed dying until the end. >.< It's so frustrating. I know he saves the kids, but how/from what, I don't really know...

  • I love how sensitive the kid is. "I'd love to stay here in the graveyard all day..." Like, STFU, fool. Thanks for uploading!

  • i cried off this movie when i saw it the first time i think i was 7 or 8 and i still cry of of it still

  • does any1 here know where to download LIFE GOES ON by marc shaiman? i just saw the sample at amazon. please make a reply with this if u know.

  • If you have Limewire, you can download it from there. That's where I found it. Good luck on findig it! :)

  • This part is my fav.... i wonder where to buy a copy of its soundtrack here in the philippines... i just luv marc shaiman's life goes on....

  • I have that song. It's like the best score on the album.

  • really? wish i cud have that too, but it's not av here in phil.

  • Man, this movie is just...something great, I remember the first time I got it on DVD, I was so f-ing grateful to have it on DVD, and I watched it a ton, it's in my top ten films of all time.

  • It is indeed.

  • I agree. This is an AMAZING film. Alot a people say bad things about it, but... SCREW EM! Thanks for the upload of this scene! One of the best in the film! :)
