it sounds cool but hey it brand new so got to make it right and to all the people who don't know this isn't a ford tranny its a gretreg and at my auto school they are shit the only reason why ford couldnt use a tremec was the fact they wanted a new type of 6 speed and biggest problem with the gretreg is the completly plastic shifter forks. Just give you guy some info I am still a big ford fan but they could have done better

ok first go back to your car see if your car call GT500 second open your hood see if you have supercharger on the engine. if see any of that it's normal.

Idk what happened. There should either be an option or it comes standard on GT Premiums. Those are the only cars I've seen them on. There have been reviews about it saying it could b a problem in the winter cuz it gets really cold. Check out the roadflytv review of the 5.0 on YouTube.

mine has a bit of a meshing/whining sound in second gear. I noticed its worse on hot days. Took it to the dealer and they said it was fine. So far it hasnt gotten worse but im getting ready to put an extra 150hp into the car and a little concerned about the stock transmission.

it's mainly caused by rear axle gear and pinion

Update:

Whole transmission was replaced under warranty finally, all is normal for now.

That is NOT normal.... unless they installed the Ford Fiesta QDC fluid. The MT82 is a train wreck... 5000 miles and just had my second transmission failure in the same car.

I can tell you from experience, that this is 100% NOT normal. I'd be willing to bet that it whines in every gear except for 5th and possibly 6th??

I know, because I just went through this with my car. Ford had the tech tear my trans down, and they found signifigant wear/damage to a few of the synchros, bearings, etc.. Also, my trans had the thin QDC oil in it from the factory. Since the rebuild, and switch to QS, the noise is gone.

Did you check your tranny fluid? Maybe worth a shot, but no that's not normal. Better get that checked before it actually does cause some damage

that sucks, im having some trouble with my 2011 v6 to, sounds like a pulley and an air leak in mine. the dealership i took it to said they couldnt hear it but its hard to miss.

thats not normal at all. ive seen just about every 2011 mustang interior acceleration video on youtube and i have never hear an ounce of whine. def try another dealer as dude100 said

Yeah, I took it into the dealership last week they said it was normal for these cars. I don't think this is normal though.

@baran311 They also say it is normal for it to have problems shifting into gears, or not at all. These problems have turned me off of the new mustang since it is a gamble whether or not you are getting a good car, let alone cooperation from the company actually backing their warranty.
