Quite a good attempt. And indeed, I think the original sounds 'stronger'. I think adding a riff guitar that just played more or less the chords or a riff based on the chords, woudl help to make it sound much more 'hard rock'. Now we're only hearing a guitar playing the melody, which is played by such a guitar too in the original theme.
