Somebody is protecting an industry that is heavily invested in the school lunch program. It can't be budget. We're talking about a district that can fund contract schools, have some of the best academic programs in the nation, and still make the school look like ikea. This is special interest.

I don't get this Deno is getting by okay. But Jamie is a multi millionare and world famous BECAUSE HE CAN COOK!!!!!! The numbers determine the price. So if you can take processed, cheaply produced trash and spread it out everywhere, then you are making more money, which you can then use to influence the people, who are responsible for feeding the kids MORE processed stuff. The coke machine is then put up in the hallway for free, maybe a flat screen TV (with ads running on it), etc... So it's all a downward spiral, where the only thing that goes up is the fat % in your body and the profit for trash food makers

Over watching this series up to this point, I find it so incredibly hard to understand why someone who wants to do something so healthy, and so selfless and so miraculous faces so much opposition. They should be grabbing him in a big nation-wide bear hug and saying "Thank you. Thank you for even trying to do this for my children." it's a start, it gives some good hints, but it hardly explains anything--instead they waste time on relatively unimportant stories like this business with Deno, because they think you need to see a human face on the "enemy" or else you'll get confused and lose interest and change the channel
