  • I was just about to ask the name of the song... lol

    it Sinnerman, by Nina Simone

please thumb up so it stays on the top

  • Flawless. Absolutely flawless.

  • I think Benedict has a Steve McQueen air of effortlessly cool

  • WHAT SONG IS THIS

  • @Triple888DD2 Sinnerman, Nina Simone

  • @Triple888DD2 The song is "Sinnerman" by Nina Simone.

  • This song just got even better!

  • The theory that Sherlock jumped off the building onto the truck can simply not be true, because Sherlock quite obviously FALLS off the building as opposed to JUMPING - he'd never make it. He can't have chucked Moriarty off because there was no oppotunity to - he must have fallen and landed. It also had to be convincing enough for the sniper to believe it, although I do think Moriarty might be the sort of person to leave an oppotunity for Sherlock to survive, just to see if Sherlock CAN beat him.

  • At first I thought he threw Moriarty's dead body off the building then lay there when the bike knocked John over (the bike thing was obviously planned because the guy didn't even look back at him) but then I thought why would he be flailing his arms and legs around if he's dead? AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGG I'M SO CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you pause it right when the biker knocks John down, you can see a laundry truck in front of the building. By the time John gets up, its gone. Sherlock jumped into the laundry truck and Molly threw a body made up to look like him out of a window.

  • Do you guys know what version of Sinnerman is playing in the background? I was looking for it on iTunes but there were like two hundred different version... and I really don't want the women's gospel choir version ^^ This one is pretty cool though.

  • @Csoery Nina Simone

  • Something about this scene is so sexy.

  • I love this music. Thank you for to put online this short moment, now I can download this XD

  • That was amazing. Just regret the time remaining until the next season.

  • @Fernando40s What do you think the "replay" button is for? :D I'm watching the first two series over and over again to alleviate the pain of Sherlocklessness :*( I always find little things I didn't notice at first.

  • @Csoery I call it Holmeslessness. ;)

  • What's the name of the song ?

  • @Ion14Ion "Sinnerman"

  • Why does John even try? :L

  • Sherlock, please, do not be dead!

  • @prasatko2820 ***SPOILER ALERT! I'M WARNING YOU NOW!!!*** When you watch the whole episode at the VERY end Sherlock is watching John at his 'grave.' Every episode ends with a mystery but now we have to wait a whole SEASON XO this episode is exactly like the (amazing) movie Sherlock Holmes 2.

  • Whoever created this preview clearly saw The Thomas Crown Affair (Brosnan/Russo) - yay Nina Simone!

  • @thegreenpearreview It's BBC who created this preview you twat, and The Thomas Crown Affair is a very good movie :)

  • @JokkeHimSelf *ignoring the rude and unnecessary pejorative used by the respondent*. The BBC did not create the preview - the BBC has an employee or someone on contract who created to the preview. My reference to "whoever" was directed to him or her.

  • Andrew Scott, do us all a favour and just marry me already?

  • What's the name of classical music which Jim Moriarty is listening in this episode???

  • @mfernandesv8 I came here to find out the same thing. Anyone have the answer?

  • @mfernandesv8 Found it. Rossini's Overture La gazza ladra (The Thieving Magpie)

  • I just love the look on Moriarty's face when he's being led into the courtroom; he has this sort of bored expression on at first, then he starts smirking, like he's just going through all the motions, but he's planning out every move everyone around him will make. Life is just a game to him and it's really obvious here.

  • In case someone hasn't seen series 2 yet, message me. I can give it to you! Not everyone is internet savvy.

  • @MrMoomoo112233 It is the original version of her song, not the recent remix

  • Sherlock did indeed contacted Molly. Remember the scene where Sherlock told Molly that he needed her because he knows that he is going to die? I am positive that where Molly and Holmes devised a plan to fake his own death - he seen it coming.

  • 0:18 I love that kind of look on Sherlocks face ^^ so intensive!

  • What song is this? Someone, please?

  • @souleater443 Nina Simone - Sinnerman

  • Man this episode could make the viewer even doubt and feel the desperation.

  • what's the song name?

  • @0102chappi Nina Simone - Sinnerman

  • @kisnidan Thank you thank you THANK YOU! :D

  • I think Sherlock did something (maybe contacted Molly to get her ready) when he asked Moriarty for a moment alone, that just seemed a little ooc to me. The building was only 3 stories, which he could survive if the fall/impact was right. Then Molly added the fake blood. Sherlock arranged for the cyclist to knock John over so he wouldn't get to Sherlock in time to see Molly putting fake blood on him. Also, did you notice that when John tried to take Sherlock's pulse, a woman pulled his hand away?

  • @omgbabiesatemydingo That's actually pretty clever. But how would she put the fake blood? It wasn't only Watson, there were 2-3 people watching at the same time. And the sniper.

  • @alexman378 Well, as for the sniper, the truck (Molly) was in the way, blocking the view of the street where Sherlock landed. I'm betting that got in the way of the snipers sight. As for the other people, they would have passed by before the jump. Nobody saw Sherlock on the roof, so nobody stopped to see what was going on. If you watch it again, people don't come running over until Sherlock in on the ground and the truck is driving away. The street is empty when Sherlock lands.

  • @omgbabiesatemydingo - Actually, the whole pulse thing is interesting. There are a few shots, including a close up, of Sherlock holding a squash ball. Now, if you put a squash ball in your armpit, it's not possible to detect a pulse.

  • @omgbabiesatemydingo If he jumped from the roof of St. Bartholomews Hospital...then its more like 4 floors plus a little extra I think....check the video and then google some pictures of it.....I saw at least 4 floors

  • @omgbabiesatemydingo sir...... it was still utterly.... HEARTBREAKING.

  • @omgbabiesatemydingo I don't think Molly would have been there. It adds too much possible complications to the plan. One of the people who held back John (the homeless network?) could have added te blood. Or Sherlock had it with him. Besides: if the 'onlookers' saw a girl putting blood on a man they probably wouldn't be very convinced the man was dead. I think Molly was needed to get him a body from te morgue: to bury in his grave.

  • @stormsangel2 (I put 'onlookers' between brackets because most of the people there were probably in on the plan, to some extent. So in short-> Option a: They were not in on it: Molly couldn't have added the blood because that would be suspicious. Option b: They were in on it, so Molly didn't need to be there.)

  • I just love this music, its been stuck in the head since last week.

I have been trying to find this song since then, I found out that its by Nina simone, but this version is a hr different.... I just love it! I'm humming it right now!

  • @MrMoomoo112233 I also love this song so much and I cannot get it out of my head ever since I first heard it on Sherlock. Such a beautiful song and it matches this Sherlock episode perfectly.

  • i think when jhon got hit by the bike he got injected with the baskiville stuff or when moriate used a masked to scare the kid early on in the episode he used that and through moreate of or somin i dont know lol

  • when JM is robbing the 3 places, does anybody know the the name of the music thats playing in the background to it?

  • I just love how the miracle of John was all true =)

  • I think I might know what Sherlock did that was "out of character"(as Moffat told us):

Sherlock was playing with a bouncing ball in a lab. IN A LAB!! How often do you see a bouncing ball in a lab? random! Sherlock is most likely not carrying it in his pocket!

He got it from Molly ;D It is possible you stop your pulse in your arm, putting a smaller ball in your armpit. This is what Sherlock did to stop his pulse...unfortunatley I can not explain the fall but obviously he did not hit the ground.

  • @MichelleSeven It was a squash ball.

  • @slightlyinsaneFTW So? That's also a weird thing lying in a lab!

  • @MichelleSeven I know, I just wanted to see your reaction. Theories are more or less valuable depending on the mindset of the fan.

  • :D :D ... all people are making something like their theory about the end ... it is absolutely amazing , i think that all of people want to have a truth ... but no one is genius :)

  • @kajsma1 thank you i figured it out after i posted that actually. XP thanks tho!

  • what is this sONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! someone please @ answer me soon

  • @EddieIzzard93 Sinnerman - Nina Simone

  • @EddieIzzard93 It's from the Thomas Crown affair. Sinnerman - Nina Simone

  • this song suits the episode SO WELL! Sherlock "runs to the devil"... amazing

  • does anyone know what the song is called? :) such an amazing episode!

  • @76daisydoo, It actually isnt 18+ where'd your mother get that from?

  • I Feel Sad!!

Im 10 and I Was Watching The Biginning And My Mom Goes and turns it off!!

Then i tell her why and she said... Oh Apparently its 18 and up only this episode!!

SHE WAS THE ONE THAT STARTED ME ON SHERLOCK!!!

I JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW HE DOES IT AND WHAT HAPPENS!!

  • @76daisydoo :(

  • @76daisydoo awww =)

  • SPOILERS!. How did Sherlock do it? I guess we'll find out. I suspect that the last phone conversation between Watson and Holmes is not in realtime. I think Holmes recorded a message and played it to Watson - its not really a dialogue, he ignores anything Watson says and there are weird pauses. What the extra time did for him - not sure. The biker who hits Watson is not Holmes (although maybe its just a stunt double). Also, there is big vehicle in front of the building which is no longer parked.

  • I don't know what the I O U means either

  • @nyappynoodle It means "I owe you!". Moriarty said that to Sherlock in his room and now too only to make him believe he's always 1 step ahead of him. Tried to manipulate him.

    I love this episode... GREAT!!!

  • the song is Sinnerman by Nina Simone

  • Proof of awesomeness #1201 When they're running from the police there's a IOU graffiti on the wall. It's all about details :]

  • whats the song?? some1 plz help?

  • @saba111222 Nina Simone - Sinnerman

  • The important clue is I O U

  • @MrEdTime I don´t get it; how is "I O U" the important clue? I know that Moffat said that there is a clue and that it has something to do with Sherlock acting "out of character", but I still don´t really get it...

  • If ACTA passes into law, I will move to Britain. I cannot go on in life without watching this amazing series.

  • @mvr0cks You could still buy it from Amazon.co.uk and watch it on your computer, couldn't you? Once the UK puts it on dvd, that is :)

  • @EmeraldKnight1209 That is too long of a wait, my friend. Way too long. lol

  • I hope Moriarty is dead....him surviving a gun the mouth would be stretching it too much...even for the show. Plus in the final problem Holmes survives and Moriarty dies anyways...i don't know why that's a spoiler since the books have been around for a long...long time.

  • Moriarty is our king.

  • 3 people don't believe in Sherlock Holmes.

  • Last night I spent nine consecutive hours watching every episode of Sherlock. SO worth it!

  • @kitkatkidkate where do you watch the first series? :o

  • @kitkatkidkate Where did you watch it? I can't find season 2 anywhere :'(

  • @SuperSmileyDiva watch series eu Sherlock (look it up on google since yt does'ent allow links to be posted) also check tumbler they seem to be posting links a lot too

  • with the help of Molly, Homeless network and a squash ball, it is done :D

  • at 17 seconds in -that look from Sherlock to John-now it is beginning-the solution to get rid of Moriarty. His & Mycroft's plan will involve taking John through the ringer-emotionally taking him to the edge.John is the one who's world is collapsing around him-he's so strong they know only the devastion of seeing Sherlock die will unlock his true emotions and keep everyone alive. The Holmes brothers are in the driver's seat from start to finish. Believe it! <3

  • ''I may be on the side of angels, but don't for one second think I'm one of them.''

  • who is the singer of this version?

  • @bellatrixL Nina Simone

  • Amazing music with an amazing programme! can't wait for series 3! :D

  • I thought there would be the part when Moriarty asks the lady guard to "slip her hand in his pocket" !

  • What' s the song' s title?

  • @liduccia93 Nina Simone - Sinnerman

  • #believeinsherlock

  • No complete theory, but just before SH meets JM, he's playing with a squash ball in the labs. The squash ball is famously able to be able to be used to stop the heartbeat in your wrist (hiding it under you armpit and squeezing the capillary). That must be how he disguised his pulse. I'm 8/10 sure

  • the BBC should make this and frozen planet and just scrap everything else

  • n ofcourse Molly helped him so when Sherlock tells her, I need u, they cut off the next part and they didn't even show what happened to Moriarty's body... but I'm so glad we have a 3rd series and I'm already starving :(

  • REALLY NEED TO KNOW WHAT THIS MUSIC IS! please help

  • @jassflower Nina's sinnerman:

    youtube[dot]com/watch?v=Bn5tiuZU4JI

  • One of the best things to come out of British taxes

  • Saddest. Thing. EVER.

  • zipponemanja the song is called sinnerman, and is written by nina simone its a great song..............just type in sinnerman on youtube, it will come up!!!!

  • its so good .............I wish i could erase my memory and watch the whole series again ...............its soooooooo amazing.

  • @TheFinjamin i feel the same way!!!!

  • what song is this ?

  • @zipponemanja it is Nina Simone with "Sinnerman". Great song...

  • just had to pause at the beginning to read the papers :P

  • @mrrrloc

    you massive idiotic twat.

  • I can barely wait for the third season...

  • This episode blew my mind! And I can't figure out for the life of me how Sherlock pulled it off, and I'm going to drive myself mad for an entire year figuring it out! This was one of the most well thought out and acted shows I've ever seen, and I need more xD Oh, and the song in this is epic, can someone tell me who it's by?

  • @ThereWillBeBreakfast The song is called "Sinnerman" by Nina Simone. You are right- it is epic.

  • Sherlock said to Molly he needed her. and she does autopsy and she could've put a recently dead body there instead of Sherlock? maybe?

  • It's Sherlock on the stretch for sure.I believe that he landed on the truck, another body was tossed simultaneously on the pavement, maybe from the truck,(that explains why he insists 'keep your eyes fixed on me") and John was knocked down by the cyclist to give time to Sherlock (and Molly presumably) to put the body back on the track and for Sherlock to lay down and cover his face in blood.John had to be convinced that Sherlock was indeed dead,he would not be mistaken so easily.

  • I have a couple of theories how he managed to do it, my main theory is something to do with the fact that when he made JW stand at that position.... it wasn't to stop JW from seeing him fall, but to make sure the 'sniper' couldn't see what was happening i.e if JW was near SH then the plan wouldn't have worked

  • Brilliant episode. I've already watched it like, 3 times. I've watched the part where Sherlock jumps an extra twenty times. There has to be some sort of switch after he jumps, obviously, because it's really him falling. But it's TOTALLY his face when they turn him over, and that's where I keep getting stuck. I know my Benedict's face. Lol. I guess it can't be, though.

Long story short, though: Martin Freeman is AMAZING and Sally Donovan needs to die an unneccesary long and painful death.

  • @EvelynFlax where did you watch the episode???? can you tell me please??

  • What about that dummy mentioned earlier in the ep? i doubt they'd put in something that..useful and then say no more of it, so i think its a kind of Chekov's Gun technique.

  • I'm actually kinda hoping that the next series' first episode will be Sherlock solo for most of it, then only revealing himself to JW at the end (not like that lol). But anyway, the way he survived the fall will not be so easy as people could guess it within a week, it'll be something so much simpler, like how the stand-off finished.

  • I don't know how he did it, I'm sure Molly was involved (though I love all these theories, I could almost say conspiracy theories :D), but there are so many things left unexplained... maybe someone will get the right theory but we'll all know eventually. But to everyone involved in creating this episode I have to say: THANK YOU! THIS is what I call great storytelling!

  • Sherlock can't of swapped his clothes with moriaty's body as when he jumps off the building his arms and legs are moving as he's falling. As for how he fakes his death, wait till series 3 to find out instead of trying to figure it out and spoil Howe actually did it!

  • maybe a bit offtopic question, but what's thsi song? it's been going on and on in my head since sunday night.

  • @variksenpoika Sinnerman by Nina Simone

  • @variksenpoika Sinnerman (Felix Da Housecats Mix)

  • Molly helped him don't you think?

  • I can just imagine John and Sherlock's reunion.

    "You... you're alive...?"

    "Yes I am."

"YOU IDIOT YOU MADE ME WORRY I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"

    Lol. c:

  • @moony006 Fanon states that, without a doubt, Sherlock is going to get a fist to the teeth, courtesy of the good doctor himself. :p

  • Somewhere through Sherlock said to Molly "I need you to do me a favour" also " I think I'm going to die" now how hard would it be to make a mock up of a body like Sherlock? (Latex face, fake blood etc.)

  • @lankyb9422 So you think Molly impersonated Sherlock?

  • #I believe in sherlock!

  • This show is absolute genius!!! I want to give everyone who worked on this a fat kiss straight on the lips. And this is coming from a straight grown ass man. Haha!

  • @bctopper, I couldn´t agree more, I also could kiss, hug and thank each and every one who is involved in this amazing show and this outstanding episode. It was so intense, especially towards the end. I loved every single second of it.

  • @bctopper your a stupid twat to think this crap is good

  • @mrrrloc Regarding your fucking idiotic comment 'your a tupid twat to think this crap is any good'. 1, Its You're, with an apostrophe, as in You are. 2. If you disliked the show, calling it crap, why have you taken the time to log in to you tube, view a video about the show, scroll down and read comments and post one of your (no apostrophe required here) own? Insulting someone who, has 21 likes, against your 0 on a video with (as of 18.01.12 19:56pm) 1005 likes to 3? You're a fool.

  • @Faceman825 hahahah wtf is wrong with you jackass, go back to school and learn to write a simple comment. Not 1. YOU. at 3:13, are a "douche" (so called) boolean = true / your fail, need to get laid x274. Get the drift you stupid idiot?

  • @mrrrloc Go fuck yourself. Was that simple enough for you? At least I have been laid.

  • @Faceman825 hahaha your mom was just being generous that one time ok.

  • @mrrrloc Yeah, whatever. Bye.

  • Does anyone know, when there will be season 3? I can not wait for such a long time. I suppose, John will be very mad finding out, that Sherlock is alive and did not tell him.

  • @Taurus2May Yes, there is supposed to be a third season :) It'll probably air next year

  • @Taurus2May Yeah, they're working on it now, but they revealed it 3 hours after this episode aired that it was already in progress.

  • I was sure from the first seconds of that episode, that he won't die, but still I was totally freaking out in the end. Funny. .__.

  • @moony006 lol me to! now thats good writing. making you doubt what you already know. Ironicaly, thats what Moriarty does in this episode to!

  • An outstanding episode. (SPOILERS) My theory on how Sherlock survived: Sherlock really did jump, but landed in that truck that was parked underneath but drove off just as John was knocked over by the cyclist. He planned with Molly to have a body put there dressed as Sherlock with similar hair and facial features (your face doesn't look the same after a fall remember). Many nursing staff were in on this too as was the cyclist. This was planned by Sherlock and his 'note' was a double meaning.

  • @characteravatar ONE MORE SPOILER (remember what (or who) the kidnapper must have looked like)

  • @characteravatar In this version of events the body of Moriarty is left lying on the roof of St Bart's,waiting to be discovered as a suicide.

  • @characteravatar Great idea, but John saw him land, And he was falling rather close to the wall.

Might still be the answer though

  • @MrTerra5005 Ahh, but did he really? If you re watch it, there is a truck right under the spot Sherlock jumped and he had John stand in a certain part of the street which could have easily made the truck conceal his landing, then John gets knocked over and then we see the truck drive off.

But yes, we'll find out! I honestly can't wait though hehe.

  • @MrTerra5005 John didn't see him hit the ground, remember - he had to walk forward to see his body round the corner, then the bike hit him.

  • @characteravatar Actually, I was first to say this daaaaaays ago.

  • @maddalicex Really? Well, there you go, great minds think alike!...you're not Moriarty are you? :S

Did you have anything to add?

  • @characteravatar The best theory I've heard yet! half of them say he ran down the stairs and then ends lol.

  • @SeaDistrict Thanks! Yes, I know. My favourite one yet is that there was a trapdoor and Molly was standing under it to catch him. I thought that was really cute lol.

  • John - Confidence is fine; lets give "smart ass" a wide berth. LOL Oh my god, I want to see these so bad. Will May 2012 never come????

  • sherlock is the shit

  • what do we need to wait until next year to have series 3????????!!!!!!!! jeeezz.

  • @tsyunn I KNOW RIGHT! JUST MAKE A LONGER SERIES 2! But still, they would have left this as the finale anyway.

  • I <3 these series! and i love the theories on his survival :)

  • SPOILERS: - It has to have something to do with the way the little girl screamed - I think Moriarty had a Sherlock look-a-like, would also explain why Sherlock didn't want John to get to close at the end - so the look-a-like could take the fall without him noticing.

  • @yazmac Yeah but how did Sherlock hire him?

  • @RANDOMFREAKSHOWCO He's Sherlock! - There has to be a connection with why the girl screamed - why have it in, and leave it at a loose end otherwise - I dare say Sherlock worked it out and used it to his advantage.

  • @yazmac But how could he do it in the few seconds he had on the roof?

  • Something tells me that the coat and the scarf will become iconic Sherlock items like the hat :p
