Che una pregunta de donde descargaste el Video de Fenix Tx - Katie W. me podrias pasar la web de donde lo bajaste.O pasa el video de Fenix Tx-Katie W que vos tenes.Porfavor!!
Emo wasn't all bad. It was bands like this that drove Emo bands to write "their" music. Listen to all of Blink 182's albums in order, and see the progression they made, and that (I think) is a great example of how music progressed/changed from punk to punk rock - punk pop - emo etc.
@seamonkeytrainer i would say blink is more post punk now, and fenix tx actually went slightly more hardcore on this album...i think fallout boy makes a better example of the musical progression you're talking about
@seamonkeytrainer inorder to know what emo is you must learn of its origins. First off emo is short for emotional hardcore, the first emo band was called rites of spring and formed in the late 80's it wasnt til a more melodic and catchy band called Cap N JAzz hit the scene that the movement really gained a crowd, However it didnt really blow up til a band from the midwest called the get up kids infused melodid punk rock with pop sesnablities finally making way for the drive thru record bands,
@dayzedaway Meh, i remember emo standing for emotional punk rock, and that was back in the early to mid 90's when bands like jimmy eat world and weezer paved the way for that type of music even though they never really claimed "emo" status until nearly a decade later. Whatever origin you choose to pick though, everyone can agree that the people calling themselves emo today are a far fucking cry from what it used to be.
u guys are all kind of right, the song is about a guy who does drugs, specifically Mary Jane, and he is with a girl, Katie W, who want's him to stop. thus the reason for him saying i don't make you try to change so don't make me.
actully you are patrially right this song is about pot and he doesnt have a girl he a lonly guy singing about MJ and katie W in houston where will was from was what the good pot was called please get your facts correct
false the band formed around in 1996 or around 98 and were a big part of the none emo era but was the pop punk era of the likes of unwritten law, Blink182, Sum41, ETC
OBVIOUSLY fenix tx has formed before the emo era and emo did not get dubbed emo untill after blink 182 Fenix tx is surf or pop punk if emo started in the 80s with the smiths and morrisy the thats fine but point here is emo was not emo untill after blink dumbass other than that the term was never known sure it had founding fathers like blues was to rock but u fail good day sir

Seriously man, head over to wikipedia and read up on Emo. Emo started in the mid to late 80s with bands like Rites Of Spring and Embrace, who were labeled as emo for blending hardcore music with emotional lyrics. I have read up on the subject, you haven't.
u spend to much time in wikipedia and just to let you know. you do knot wikipedia can be edited right!? the only argument here is that U said
"These guys were around early 80s before the ACTUAL emo era? " so head over to wikipedia since you like being there so much and look up fenix tx and look at the genre section u DUMBASS U JUST GOT OWNED AND THERE NOT EMO
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I didn't state anywhere in my argument that Fenix TX were emo, my argument was they couldn't have been before emo otherwise they would have been around in the mid to late 80s. I do know wikipedia can be easily edited, but there are other websites dedicated to the subject matter as well. Check out Fourfa (dot) com, thats also a website on the subject. Theres nothing wrong with wikipedia, the more knowledge i have the more i know compared to a peanut eating monkey like yourself.
Never in your statement did you say they were or weren't emo there for your comment was opened for suggestions. But if you blindly believe everything that you see in the internet is real or register it that is real like wikipedia then why dont you go to hoo-ville and go get me some green eggs and ham you gullible prick or why dont u go look for the snuffulafagus while youre at it i heard that guys a missing! more than sure u will do ur crap research to try to correct me there for u loose

If your argument is don't trust everything on website, then you might as well apply your logic to everything, TV, Books, newspapers. These are also created by humans and are open to human contribution and change. If your going to follow that ideal then you may as well never believe anything in your life. Now your starting to spout loads of gibberish, thus just turning your argument into a fallacy. Are you a bit annoyed cause you know i won because you didnt do your research? ;)
AGAIN your comment was "Emo era? These guys were around early 80s before the ACTUAL emo era?" why would you say the were from the 80s when they clearly are not why would you even mention emo? if its not the same genre dont try to change the subject with your pharmacy psychology please spare us all it seems like you my friend were the one that was wrong with saying they were from the 80s and even slightly mentioning emo genre with this band sorry u LOOSE
WOW your such a doushe bag this band is not emo.. you need to admit defeat Mase666 to think this band was from the eightees is pure lies glad girrcky and deathquota cleared things up!
@Eltroim American Hi-Fi- Flavor of the week , Blink 182- Always , Mxpx- heard that sound....yea i think every band from that era eventually...including fenix tx(all my fault)
made at least one emo song...the money was too much to resist
it's all seasonal man, those were happy times, hanging out with friends in the skateboard, surfing, then came the EMO season, kind of reacting against it, sad people, sobbing, that shitty stuff, now we have the colored(faggy) way, bands like starship cobra, all time low, forever the sickest kids, and stuff like that
@Eltroim you left out A New Found Glory, Midtown and Allister, New found glory is still around today dishing out the hits, as well as blink 182. Both nfg and blink are probably the best all time pop punk bands to ever exist based off their long term success and melodic consistency
@rsboy5 jesus.. you retarded fuck.. if mark hoppus helped fenix tx, that doesn't mean he was in fenix tx then he went in blink 182... god, please make all these stupid people shut the fuck up forever
@Chachables i wish it were back in the day when blink just released enema of the state and eleventeen year olds arernt all over their nuts. everyone knows that tom has all the talent in the band
@xTrettx i don't know what to say about that, mark hoppus had his dignity, and he remained punk, tom chose to continue with AvA, which in my opinion is gay, and doesn't prove much talent from Tom. But I gotta admit, those old days were good and maybe back then Tom was really doing a good job, but now, the only one who is still keeping a little bit of punk in blink 182 is Mark. Respect for Mark for haven't changing a bit!
@xTrettx dont get me wrong, mark is a badass but his bass skills really arent that impressive. picture blink with a different drummer and you got a mediocre band. tom really ties it together
@xTrettx lol ok wanabe 20 year old. im 19 i admit i was 13 when i was listening to this but id believe u were older but your grammar is that of a fetus
@rsboy5 I find your statement to be ironic considering that it is full of grammatical errors itself. If you are referring to my last sentence as being the grammar of a fetus, then you need to take that up with black dynamite.
@Donni95innes he was, in 1997 he worked as the band manager, sang in all my fault, and extended their later band (riverfenix) though not popular at all
@Eltroim I'm sorry to burst your bubble but Sunny Day Real Estate, Jimmy Eat World, Further Seems Forever, New Found Glory and a band called Far were the beginning stages of emo... before the eye makeup and all black clothes.
hehe i didn't know this song had a video that's awesome. i remember hearing this song on a cd that came free with rock sound. it makes me glad to be called katie w
the first time i ever heard this song and got into the band was from a free album tht came with the kerrang like 8 years ago called HOT LICKS, ever since i heard this song i fell in love with the band and bought 'Lechuza' its a shame theyre didnt get populer in the UK a loved them so much <3
ok well here goes you used the Exploited as an example of a band who you have grown up on, an example of Punk, which is also something you say died before 1980, ok maybe under the guise of someone elses words but you wouldnt have said it if you didnt believe it yourself.
You also argued that Punk is Punk because it is controversial, so by that reckoning Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash were punk, and if you don't understand the first post you really are shouldn't be allowed to speak
lol. Wtf was up with the last sentence to this? Wow. You REALLY have it the common tactics for defamation perfected, huh? Unfortunately, like most youtubers, civil argument, and in your case the English language, is lost on you.
I said: "Punk is controversial, and gets people talking." and twisted that, an pretended that I said: "Any music that is controversial and gets people talking, is punk." Well, obviously not. but 'I reckon' that it's a pretty necessary characteristic for a punk band, no?
Anyway, don't have much time for people who twists things I say into something I obviously wasn't. And people that are good at.. well, you'd make a good fascist. Or American Politician. You should look into those.
Oh, and as for your first paragraph, it's really really not hard to figure out what I was actually getting at in that original post. Certainly if you look at the context and what I was actually responding to.
Again: You REALLY have mastered the common tactics of defamation, haven't you? I have to admit, unlike most other assholes on youtube, I have to give somewhat of a kudos for that one.
NOTE: I am well aware of the irony I have several grammatical errors in the above. But it's 7:08 AM and I've been up all night. So give me a break. But I hope mr. darks05 has the courtesy not to exploit this and write like I am saying something I quite obviously was not.
Funny i was thinking that same, wierd isnt it how no one seems to be able to agree in an argument, someone says its defamation while the other person is simply stating what they see, and then responding to it, it then is not their fault if what is being said can easily be misconstrued, and it is in that situation where the use of the English language has been lost.
BTW The Exploited's first album was released in 81 which also by your reckoning was after punk died, funnily enough entitled punks not dead, so great example for your punk died before 1980 theory please get some facts straight, either that or shut up
lol. geee golly, I did not know that!!!! (sarcasm)
Well, I never said punk EVER died. I was talking about SOME people say punk died a long fucking time ago. But apparently, you're a self-centered asshole who doesn't understand making points by talking about the words of other people. Crass, for instance, did write a song titled "Punk is Dead" in 1978.
[...]I would say both Pennywise and NOFX are certainly on the pop side of punk as well. And I have no idea what you're even arguing with other than crap I didn't actually say. Explain to me what you're disagreeing with, and maybe we can chat.
oh i didn't know that.... fuck your dumb! thats cool he was featured in a music video.....Mark was never IN fenix tx

ok well here goes you used the Exploited as an example of a band who you have grown up on, an example of Punk, which is also something you say died before 1980, ok maybe under the guise of someone elses words but you wouldnt have said it if you didnt believe it yourself.
You also argued that Punk is Punk because it is controversial, so by that reckoning Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash were punk, and if you don't understand the first post you really are shouldn't be allowed to speak
darks05 4 years ago
lol. Wtf was up with the last sentence to this? Wow. You REALLY have it the common tactics for defamation perfected, huh? Unfortunately, like most youtubers, civil argument, and in your case the English language, is lost on you.
Urza216 4 years ago
I said: "Punk is controversial, and gets people talking." and twisted that, an pretended that I said: "Any music that is controversial and gets people talking, is punk." Well, obviously not. but 'I reckon' that it's a pretty necessary characteristic for a punk band, no?
Anyway, don't have much time for people who twists things I say into something I obviously wasn't. And people that are good at.. well, you'd make a good fascist. Or American Politician. You should look into those.
Urza216 4 years ago
**and you twisted that, and pretended that I said ".."
Urza216 4 years ago
Oh, and as for your first paragraph, it's really really not hard to figure out what I was actually getting at in that original post. Certainly if you look at the context and what I was actually responding to.
Again: You REALLY have mastered the common tactics of defamation, haven't you? I have to admit, unlike most other assholes on youtube, I have to give somewhat of a kudos for that one.
Urza216 4 years ago
NOTE: I am well aware of the irony I have several grammatical errors in the above. But it's 7:08 AM and I've been up all night. So give me a break. But I hope mr. darks05 has the courtesy not to exploit this and write like I am saying something I quite obviously was not.
Urza216 4 years ago
Funny i was thinking that same, wierd isnt it how no one seems to be able to agree in an argument, someone says its defamation while the other person is simply stating what they see, and then responding to it, it then is not their fault if what is being said can easily be misconstrued, and it is in that situation where the use of the English language has been lost.
darks05 4 years ago
BTW The Exploited's first album was released in 81 which also by your reckoning was after punk died, funnily enough entitled punks not dead, so great example for your punk died before 1980 theory please get some facts straight, either that or shut up
infact just shut up
darks05 4 years ago
lol. geee golly, I did not know that!!!! (sarcasm)
Well, I never said punk EVER died. I was talking about SOME people say punk died a long fucking time ago. But apparently, you're a self-centered asshole who doesn't understand making points by talking about the words of other people. Crass, for instance, did write a song titled "Punk is Dead" in 1978.
learn how to read asshole.[...]
Urza216 4 years ago
[...]I would say both Pennywise and NOFX are certainly on the pop side of punk as well. And I have no idea what you're even arguing with other than crap I didn't actually say. Explain to me what you're disagreeing with, and maybe we can chat.
Urza216 4 years ago
I also find it funny that no one even has the balls to confront me directly. I have to fucking go back to this bullshit to even find this.
Be a fucking person other than a scared little weasle and FUCKING RESPOND TO MY POST. So I actually know someone has written back.
