  • I've 7S26's rate and beat error adjusted to about 3-4 seconds a day at worst, surely that can be adjust to even half that error? I mean sometimes I don't reset them any more often than after about 5 weeks because I don't notice it getting more than about 25 seconds off!

  • Informative review without being boring, thanks

  • Excellent review mate - my resistance to not buy one is weakening!!

  • Great video JP - thanks for the review. I could not believe the size of it when you compared it to your Sub, It would be too big for me, but it looks like a great watch. Cheers.

  • Excellent and thorough description! Thank you!

  • Excellent watch but, lume is not as good as my Ball Night Train. My Night Train lume is bright without using a light source.

  • The types of lume are different. Some manufacturers use a radioactive source, which is why they don't need to be activated by light. That is not necessarily a preferable solution, as seen in the fact that most high-end makers don't use it.

  • Very true. A tritiume vials dial and hands will glow more steady, whereas Luminova and Lumibite for example will glow brightest after being charged (via natural light or some other light source) and then dimish as the hours pass. I stand by my statement that the watch will glow quite strong all night. Strong enough to be easily read, at any rate. Thanks for your comments. Best, JP

  • Excellent video! Helped me seal my decision to get one. Definitely a high quality piece!

  • thanks for the post, dude. just got my Marine Master. It's AWESOME. Hasn't left my wrist. My poor Grand Seiko may never see the light of day again.

Getting on a plane tomorrow to going diving. GONNA GET THE MARINEMASTER WET!

  • I think there is a slight error in the description of the dimension. It's bigger than 42mm. Based on internet reviews, it's either 46 or 47 mm, but definitely not 42 mm, unless it's not a SBDX001 but other marinemaster.

  • Yes and no. I stand by my measurement of 42mm "across the bezel", but I agree it's larger if you measure the width of the case.

  • how much is this watch?

  • Generally new around 2k US. Used depending on condition ranges 1300-1600 in my experience.

  • Thank you for a nice review.

  • Thank you for your comment! It was my pleasure to do this.

  • great review! keep them coming.

  • I'll try....sorry I took so long, but there's a new Omega Seamaster GMT video up now. I try not to call these "reviews". They are more personal impressions, since I'm not exactly a pro, more an enthusiast.

  • Congratulations! This watch is really amazing! Better than a lot of watches much more expensive!

  • Thank you. Seiko offers some interesting pieces, yes.

  • Thanks for the review. With these things not being available outside of Japan and a few asian markets, it is really tricky to get much of an idea about what they are like. I'll be going to Japan in the next few weeks and I hope to be able to find one there.

Thanks again for the great review:)

  • Good luck and thanks!

  • Thanks for the review

  • My pleasure. Glad you liked the video.

  • I really like the MarineMaster however the only thing holding me back is the lack of a sapphire crystal. Shatter resistance is not important to me because sapphire is still strong enough for everyday wear. Resistance to scratches is a much more pressing issue. If I pay $2000 for a watch, it needs to have a sapphire.

  • Email me if you want a source for installing a sapphire crystal made to the same specs of the hardlex. This is a hang up for a lot of people, but according to Seiko, it's done for a reason that would take me a while to explain right now. Thanks for your comments.

  • @GMCtrk im sure there is a $50 mod that changes the hardlex crystal out for a sapphire one.

  • Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video. I really enjoyed it.

Along with the MM, the Orient Star 300m diver also uses the same ratcheting clasp. Rolex also put a similar clasp on the new "Deep Sea" Sea Dweller model. I'm fairly sure the MM has been in production since 2000.

  • Good to know! Appreciate the info.
