Thanks so much for posting this. I had the 2nd track on a compilation (white vinyl) with a red label (no printing) called red spot. 1980. tuxedomoon. jed speare and easy teeth. the fried abortions. chrome. factrix cazazza.
and I forget....oh yeah, the mutants, they were so great.
Thanks a lot, Isabelle, for this information and comment on (my) Tuxedomoon video!
I just got your book and I´m very impressed of the huge amount of inside informations about this still very fascinating group of musicians. Although I didn´t start reading it yet, I can see it´s a great work of passion. An awesome collection of memories, which otherwisely would have been lost, if you didn´t do it.
Oops, I accidentally erased my comment to which you replied. Anyway as I said this footage is an excerpt from a documentary featuring Tuxedomoon live when they came to play for the city of Liège (Belgium)'s millenium celebrations. They flew in from the UK where they were then recording their upcoming LP "Desire".
And I complete the above here. To be noted: on the version of "Jinx" you get here, it is Steven Brown and not Winston Tong - as usual lead singer on that song - who sings. The reason for that fact is that Winston was then working in the US and just flew to the UK for a couple of days to record his parts of "Desire". More about all this in my Tuxedomoon biog, titled "Music for Vagabonds: the Tuxedomoon Chronicles".
Great to see a live version (and different vocal style) of one of my favorite songs from the 80s, by one of the most intelligent and creative bands of that or any other era!
